Bird (and Monster)

I had a teenage boy birthday card to make just before Christmas and I used the wonderful Bird (and Monster) stamp from Mo's Digital Pencil.  This went perfectly with the copy of Frankenstein that I bought him :)

He was fun to colour and the background I made was fun too!  I had been given some Brusho Powders for my birthday but hadn't tried them yet and I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to use the grey Brusho. It created a really simple but effective background :)

Purple Fairy

I have another card to share using one of the gorgeous little fairies from the 6 Baby Fairies set from Mo's Digital Pencil.

All of these fairies are so precious and you can use them for so many different occasions.

I coloured her with Copics, and added some white gel pen accents and gold glitter pen to the centre of her wings.

I cut her out and put her on a tag by CC Designs along with this great quote from a Stamping Bella set.

I used an old Stampin Up embossing folder on the purple card and used white craft ink to highlight it more.

Mrs Claus

I have a card to share today featuring Mrs Claus one of the gorgeous new Christmas stamps from Mo's Digital Pencil.

This is such a fun stamp and I loved colouring and creating this card :)

I created the backgound using the Gingham stamp from Whimsy Stamps with Citron Distress Oxide ink.  The sentiment is from an old CC Designs set and the Jolly die is from Concord & 9th. I also used the Envelope edger die by Whimsy Stamps.

I added some highlights to the Jolly die and added stars to Mrs Claus' apron with a white gel pen.

Fairy Magic

I have a card to share today using another beautiful image from the 6 Baby Fairies set from Mo's Digital Pencil.

I decided to create a slimline card and use some "unusual" fairy colours for something a bit different :)

I created the background using Pumpkin, Lemonade and Citron Distress Oxide inks through the Gradient Circle Stencil from Tim Holtz.

Her wings have some gold glitter pen on the flourishes and some glitter. White gel pen was used for the centre of the flower.  The sentiment is an old one by Penny Black.

Father Christmas Gnome

I have a card to share using the Father Christmas Gnome set from Mo's Digital Pencil.

I loved colouring these cute images and they work so well on a clean and simple card style card like this one.

I used copics to colour the images and fussy cut them out.
For the background I used patterned paper and I also tore some white cardstock to create a snowy ground. The Peace on Earth stamp is from on old Stampin Up set.

Happy Baby Fairies

I had a lovely time playing with some fairies this week :)

These two cuties are from the Mo's Digital Pencil set 6 Baby Fairies (girls)

I thought they would love to fly amongst some rainbow clouds so after colouring them with Copics I made a special night sky for them :)

To create the cloud panel I used Distress Oxide inks and made a blend with Raspberry, Violet, Peacock and Mermaid.

I then used an MFT Cloud stencil and black Distress ink to create the clouds.

I used a star stencil from CC Designs with texture paste for the stars.

I cut a number of the Whimsy Stamps Happy die from black card and glued on top of each other and then added a white one slightly to the side. This gave the word more impact because of the height and the black outline.  The sentiment is from a Whimsy set called Bunny Balloons.

I added glitter gel pen to the flourishes on the fairies wings and also some Wink of Stella so the wings are a little glittery although it's hard to tell in the photo unfortunately.

Tall Cake

I have a Birthday card to share today using the gorgeous Tall Cake stamp from Mo's Digital Pencil.

I think it's beautiful, fun and quirky and I loved colouring it!

I decided to keep the card clean and simple to focus on the girl and the cake.

I coloured the image with Copics and I added some white to her dress with a gel pen.

I used a die to cut out the panel and added the Magnolia Tilda Lace die at the top.

I used a gold glitter pen for the candle flames which looks nice and sparkly ( but hard to tell in the photo).

The sentiment is from an old CC Designs set called Birthday Wishes.

Candy Cane Bear Sweater

I have made another Christmas card to add to this years tiny, but growing stash :)
I've used a stamp from Mo's Digital Pencil called Candy Cane Bear.

He's great because he's so quick to colour and super cute too!

I coloured the image with Copics and used the Pinkfresh Studio's Stitched Scallop Square die to frame it.
For the background I used an embossing folder by Sizzix called Nordic Sweater and distressed the top of the card so that the pattern was more prominent.

Feed The Soul

I have a card to share today using a stamp from Mo's Digital Pencil called Feed The Soul.

I just love this fabulous lady with her beautiful bunch of tulips :)

She comes with a wonderful sentiment but I used a different one that I had in my stash.  I thought it worked perfectly with her and would make a great Thankyou or Birthday card.

I loved colouring her but I especially loved colouring the tulips!

I cut her out and placed it on an oval cut from Spellbinders Opulent Oval die set.  It's one of of my oldest dies and I haven't used it for a very long time but I just thought it suited this stamp so well.

The sentiment is from an old Stampin Up set.

Journey

I have made another page for my art journal this week.  It features a gorgeous stamp from Mo's Digital Pencil called Journey

I had fun colouring the image with Copics and then got crafty making the background.

I used kraft card for the base and used ripped tape around the edge to create a blended panel with Distress Oxide inks. I used Speckled eggs, Peacock feather and Mermaid lagoon and then blended Squeezed lemonade over the top using a sunburst stencil.  I then stamped a couple of stamps on top of this.

For the waves I used a wave die with some patterned paper and some paper I created myself with the Distress Oxides and splashed a little water on top.

The sentiment is an old one from Stampin Up, I thought it worked so well with this image. I used a ticket die to cut it out and made a sketchy white border with a gel pen.

Mae

I got the chance to play with one of the brand new images from Mo's Digital Pencil this week :)

This is Mae. She's super cute and cheeky too.

I decided to make a page with her for my art journal and I had a lot of fun doing it :)

I want to make pages for my art journal which use quotes or sentiments that speak to me and this quote jumped into my mind as soon as I saw Mae.  I was debating whether to also write where the quote was from on my page but I decided against it.  I'm not going to tell because I'd love to see how many people actually know who said it. Please leave me a message if you do :)

So I coloured her with copics and fussy cut her out. Then I had to find some butterfly wings. I spent sooo long searching through stamps, dies, papers, etc and I thought I had so many butterfly things but nothing seemed right until I found this one in an old calendar I had saved. I think it works perfectly with her :)

I cut some black card to fit my journal page and used tape around the sides to create a black border.  Then I blended different blue and green distress oxide inks onto the card and used the same inks with a butterfly stencil over the top.  I added some circular stamps, flicked on some white gesso, added some washi tape and stickers the sentiment and of course Mae.  I used a white pen to draw a border and glued it onto the journal page.

I loved creating this page! It was a lot of fun :)

This is Amanita, isn't she gorgeous?!

I also used a scrap of paper by Simple Stories and a vine die from Whimsy Stamps.

Happy Hares and Glow Flowers

I have a card to share using some of my Lavinia Stamps today and I tried out a "new to me" technique too :)

I created the scene using Glow Flowers, Pipin and Whimsical Hares stamps.

I coloured the grass with Copics and used them to also colour the flowers.  Then I used distress oxides to blend around the edges of the card.

I have seen lots of Eclipse cards that I have loved but I have never tried one before.  I decided to be brave and give it a go :)

It wasn't hard but I wasn't happy with how it looked originally. I think it was just the wrong kind of design/background to attempt it probably.  So I was really annoyed at having tried it on this piece which I had really liked.  But I saved it (in my opinion anyway) by writing on the letters with a gel pen.

I actually love the look of it now :)

Life is like a balloon card

I have a card to share today using Life is like a balloon by Mo's Digital Pencil.

This is such a great stamp set, it actually includes a dog with balloons and a sentiment too. I've used the whole set before on an art journal page but this time I decided to make a card with just the girl.

I coloured her with my Copics and then I created the cloud background in a different way to what I generally do.  I used a light blue copic marker to colour a sky but did it in a "rough" swirly way, not bothering about trying to blend it smoothly or evenly.  Then I used a darker blue Distress Oxide ink with a cloud die.  Finally I drew along the top edge of the clouds with a white gel pen and smudged it a little.  I was really happy with how the sky looks :)

At the bottom of the card I blended some Pistachio Distress Oxide ink and also added it to the bottom of some grass I die cut.

Woe Is Fay

I had some fun with my art journal this week :)

I used a wonderful image from Mo's Digital Pencil called Woe is Fay

I really love her and she was a lot of fun to colour. The fabulously dramatic words in the speech bubbles come with her also :)

For the background I applied pink, grey and white paint with a dry brush.

I added some stencilling using paint and Distress Inks with Tim Holtz Bubble and TCW Ethereal stencils.

I drew a border around the edge and added some splashes of watered down gesso.

I paired her with a sentiment from a Dina Wakley collage words set.  I thought it was a perfect sentiment to go with her.

Teen Fairy Pia

I needed to make a Birthday card for my daughter and I decided to use this very sweet image from Mo's Digital Pencil called Teen Fairy Pia.  She's beautiful and I just love the expression on her face!

I coloured her with Copics, added a little sparkle to her wings and then cut her out.

For the sentiment I used a die from Pinkfresh Studio called Sending and cut out segments from an old SU stamp set to use with it.  I also die-cut some stars from the Cosmic Star Border by Memory Box.

I used some Lawn Fawn paper called watercolor and drew on some sketchy lines.

Hopefully my daughter likes it.

Misty Morning Meadow Mushrooms

I had fun creating this card and things got a bit messy too :)

I had different inks, stencil, gel plate, brayer, pens, paints, embossing powder, stamps and stuff everywhere but I had a wonderful time and I ended up with this card :)

I created the background using Distress Oxide inks with a tree stencil and a gel plate.

I used Whimsical Hares, Berry Wreath, Meadow Mushroom and Mini Meadow Mushroom from Lavinia Stamps.

I stamped the wreath with ink and also white embossed some of it. I then used glitter gel pens to colour the berries.

I used a wet paint brush with oxide ink to paint the underside of the Mushrooms and used glitter and white gel pens on those also.

I also flicked on some white gesso and watery distress oxides.

Pussywillows

I have a card to share today using the Pussywillows stamp from Mo's Digital Pencil.

This stamp is so beautiful and I thought it would be great to use for a Thinking of You card.

I had a lot of fun creating this card :)

Firstly I created a mask to cover the girl on the stamp.
Then I created the background by brayering some distress oxide inks onto my gel press.  I used Ripe Persimmon, Squeezed Lemonade and Speckled Egg for the sky and pressed it onto the cardstock.

It looked pretty good except that it looked a bit more like three stripes of colour than a sky.  So I just used a sponge with the same distress oxides and blended a little between the blue and yellow and the yellow to persimmon.

This was easier for me and gave a much better result as I find blending oxides smoothly onto copic card a bit difficult.

Then I blended Twisted Citron and Pistachio Distress Oxides for the grass.

I flicked on some gesso mixed with water and also "painted" some whispy clouds with it.

I removed the mask and coloured the girl with Copics and used a white Posca pen on the pussywillows.

Flower Jar

I have a card to share for Mo's Digital Pencil today using a gorgeous stamp called Flower Jar.

I haven't coloured flowers for a really, really long time but I loved it!

This arrangement is just so warm and homely and I decided to leave the card blank because there's just so many occasions I could use it for.

I decided to go for orange Iceland Poppies with white Daisies and found some old paper from my stack that coordinated quite well :)

Superhero Baby

I have a card to share today featuring Superhero Baby from Mo's Digital Pencil.

I needed a card for a baby boy and I wanted it to be fun and a bit different.  This stamp was so perfect and I loved colouring him and creating the background too.

The background was created using distress oxide and distress ink with the Sun Rays stencil from Whimsy Stamps and then splattering it with gesso.

The Superbaby sentiment comes with the stamp and I just typed the other part of the sentiment on the computer and cut it out.

I wanted to have Superbaby standing on a cloud but I don't actually have a die like that so I used a cloud stencil instead.  I just sponged ink along a cloud edge and then cut it out myself.  It's amazing that I have never thought to do that before! haha :)

Glittery Celestial Tree

I have a card using Lavinia Stamps to share today.

I used the small Reindeer, Pipin, Celestial Tree and the little flower at the base is from the Foliage set.

The background was made with the Smoosh Technique and Distress oxide inks.
It is a one of a kind background that I'm not sure I could replicate unfortunately but it is great to be able to give someone such an individual card. as it turned out pretty cool I think.

I sponged on some mowed lawn oxide ink for the grass at the bottom and used peacock feathers distress ink around the outside to really draw your attention to the centre of the card.

I then used a glittery gold gel pen for a flurry of ''blossoms" on the tree.

I decided to leave this card sentiment free so that I can use it for pretty much any occasion :)

Make a Wish

I have made a cute card this week with an adorable stamp from Mo's Digital Pencil called Make a Wish.

You could use this stamp for so many different occasions and I thought a Best Wishes sentiment would work for most of them.  I stamped the word 'best' from an MFT set I have and die cut the 'wishes' from a Pinkfresh Studio die called Sending. I cut the word out a few times and glued it together for some dimension.

The background was done using an "old school" product, an embossing folder.  I still use them occasionally because I love the look. Especially when it's sanded back like I've done on this card.

I loved colouring her with my Copics.
She's just so cute!!!

Life is Like a Balloon

I have made something other than a card today using some wonderful images from Mo's Digital Pencil.

I LOVE this stamp set! It's called Life is Like a Balloon and I thought it would work beautifully in my art journal.

I started off by making the background. I used some acrylic paints and a cloud stencil for the sky and some distress oxide inks for the ground with a fern stencil. I also used some black ink through a text stencil and darkened the edges of the pages with it too.

I then brushed gesso over the top to soften the look and with markers drew a border to frame everything.

I used copics to colour the images and fussy cut them out and I cut the sentiment into strips and drew a border around these also.  I left the "balloon" word out of the sentiment and instead used a die to cut this out for greater impact.  I also added some black ink splatters and some highlights with white pen.

This is a gorgeous stamp and I love the sentiment too!  I will definitely make cards with these two sometime soon.
