Penguin With Star

Unfortunately this is my last Guest Design Team card for Whimsy Stamps.
I have really loved working with Whimsy again!!!
Such awesome products to play with and such awesome people to work with too :)

For my last card I chose to use this super adorable stamp by Lee Holland called Penguin With Star.

I think this penguin is a soft, fluffy one, perhaps he's just a chick?
So I decided to colour him a soft warm grey.
I used Copics to colour the penguin and tree and cut them out.

Then I created my background.
I used Distress Inks and sponged on some Shaded Lilac, Peacock Feathers, Faded Jeans and Black Soot,  Then I splashed some water on top.

I used some Ranger Texture Paste with the Star Dangle Stencil to create the beautiful stars and I added some extra dots of "snow" with a gel pen.

I added a little Wink of Stella to the star the penguin is holding.

For the snowy ground I just tore some strips of white card which I think give a nice soft snow effect.

Copics Used :

R 22, 24, 27
YR 14, 16, 18
Y 15
B 0000
W 00, 1, 3, 5
G 21, 24, 82
YG 13
E 31, 37, 39

It is extremely rare for me not to use a sentiment on a card but I was just happy with the way this card looked without one.

This little penguin is just so sweet and I loved colouring him.
He made me realise that I need some more Lee Holland stamps :)

Elsa the Fairy

Hi, I'm back with another Christmas card for Whimsy Stamps :)

I love Marina Fedotova's girl stamps!
There are so many gorgeous ones that it was hard to choose just one but I ended up falling for Elsa the Fairy.
It is such a beautiful image and I really loved colouring her.

After I coloured her with Copics I used the Envelope Edger Die to create a pretty border.
I love the effect this edge gives!

I placed this over the top of another piece of white card that I had stamped with the Gingham Background stamp  This background is so versatile, but I especially love teaming gingham with sweet images such as this one.

I stamped the "Christmas" from Everyday Scripted Sentiments in a darker ink over the top of the background.  And paired it with the Happy Large Word Die.

I used this technique on one of my other Christmas cards too but I couldn't resist doing it again!
I just love the way these two work together!

I finished the card off with an enamel dot from the It's a Party collection and a little Wink of Stella on the star.

Christmas Caroling

I have a card for Dreamerland Crafts to share with you today.

This adorable stamp is called Christmas Caroling.

I loved colouring this cute choir (and dog) and creating a little scene with them :)

I used Copics to colour the image and then cut them out.
I created the background scene by sponging on Tumbled glass, Peacock feathers and Black soot    Distress inks.
And then I splashed on some water and added some dots with a white gel pen.

I used a die to create some snow for the choir to stand on
and I white embossed a sentiment onto black card.

Copics used :

W 00,1, 3, 5. 7
E 000, 00, 13, 21, 41, 42, 43, 44. 50, 53, 55
R 24, 27, 29, 30, 59
Y 13, 15

I love making Christmas cards with a musical theme to them.
Christmas and music just go together, in my head anyway :)

Thanks for dropping by today

Penguin Beach Chair

Hi :)  It's Kathy here and I'm sharing a Christmas card with a difference today for Whimsy Stamps.

My daughter loves to give her teachers Christmas cards with a heartfelt message inside

So I wanted a card for a teacher that said "Merry Christmas, Thanks for everything and Have a great holiday"  all rolled into one.

When I saw Crissy Armstrong's stamp called Penguin Beach Chair, I knew it would be absolutely perfect!!!

I do love snow on Christmas cards, it looks so pretty doesn't it?!  But we don't have snow in Tassie so it's great to be able to make a warm and sunny Christmas card.  Hopefully her teacher gets to laze around in the sunshine like this for the entire holidays.  I'm sure they deserve it  :)

I coloured the cute penguin with Copics and I also used them to make a very simple background.

 Copics used :

E 11, 13, 31, 41, 42, 43, 55
W 00, 1, 3, 5, 7, 9
C 5, 7
BG 000, 09, 10
B 93, 95
R 000, 27,29, 30, 59
Y 15, 26
YR 14. 16. 18

I thought the word "Cheers" was a great sentiment to use with this penguin.
So I used the Bold ABC Die to cut out the letters from white card.
It looks great on this clean and simple card and doesn't detract from the adorable penguin.

I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges :

Penny Black and more challenge - make someone smile
Word art Wednesday - anything goes
Stamping Sensations - get ready for Christmas

Xmas Hamster

I am very, very lucky to be Guest Designing for Whimsy Stamps this month :) Yippee!

I was on the Whimsy Design team way back in 2013.  I loved their stamps then and I still do!
They have so many fabulous designs and they are such a quality product too.

I had lots of fun looking through all the stamps and trying to choose a few to play with this month.
It was a difficult decision but I chose a couple of newish ones and a couple of old favourites too.

For my first card I decided to use a stamp that I have wanted for years, Xmas Hamster by Sylvia Zet.

Isn't he adorably cute?!
He was lots of fun to colour too!

I used Copics and made a sky background behind him.
I then used the Envelope Edger Die Set to cut this piece out.

I love the way the sentiment looks on the card too.
It's a combination of the Happy Large Word Die and the 'Christmas' from Everyday Scripted Sentiments.

Copics used :

BG 000, 01, 10, 11, 72
B 0000, 01, 37, 39
R 24, 27, 30, 59
Y 13, 15, 28
BV 0000, 00
E 41, 42, 43, 44, 47, 50
W 00, 1

I think this little guy would make anyone's Christmas happier :)

Thanks for dropping by today :)
