Irish Fairy

I've had lots of fun playing with my gel plate, stencils and stamps this week :)

With St. Patrick's Day coming up, I was reminded of the stories my Dad would tell me of finding fairy houses in the woods when he was a boy living in Ireland.  I really loved those stories and so I was inspired to create this Irish fairy card.

I used Twisted Citron and Speckled Egg Distress Oxides on my gel press to create a background.
Then I used the Speckled Egg with the TCW stencil - Ethereal.  I also used the TCW stencil - mini confetti and lifted off some of the ink with water and sponged some Black Distress Ink around the edges through this stencil also.

I used these Lavinia Stamps to create the scene : Bella's House, Berry Wreath, Fairy Foragers, Mini Meadow Mushrooms, and Fairy Buttercups.

I stamped Bella's House separately and coloured it with my warm grey Copics.  I had originally thought of having a colourful fairy house and so had coloured and cut it out a few times but I like the grey version better.  I stuck my other attempts together on the back of this one to give the house some depth without the amount of height foam tape gives.

I sponged around the edge with Speckled Egg Distress Oxide and black Distress ink and added some word stickers and white gel pen for highlights.

I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges :

Ink Art Designs - anything goes
Lavinia Stamps - Spring blooms
Fairy Stamper Hugs Challenge - anything magical

Thanks for dropping by today :)
