Izzy's Friends

I have a card for Bunny Zoe's Crafts  today which I made with a super-cute image from CandiBean called Izzy's Friends.  Aren't the 3 of them so cute!!!  It's my first time using a  CandiBean image and I just love it :)

Izzy's Friends, Candibean, warm grey copic, tattered florals, summer stories

I decided to colour this sweet trio with my warm grey copics and just added a hint of pink to their cheeks. The colours work perfectly with a few of the paper designs in this pad by Teresa Collins called Summer Stories. If you like using warm greys, like I do, you really must buy this pad, it works so wonderfully with them. I've never used her papers before but I'm a big fan now, I love this pad!

I've used 2 new (to me) dies on this card too, the Tattered Florals die by Tim Holtz and the Faux Crochet border die by MFT.  I've also used some black flat backed pearls , a Prima Tea Thyme button and some antique linen  and walnut stain distress ink.

Ingredients :

Stamps : Izzy's Friends.(Candibean)
Card : black, x-press it, blushing bride,  Summer Stories (Teresa Collins)
Ink : memento black, antique linen  and walnut stain distress ink
Other : big shot, Tattered Florals die (Tim Holtz), Faux Crochet border die (MFT), black flat backed pearls , Prima Tea Thyme button, copics

Thanks for dropping by for a look :)

Matryoshka Tilda

It's time for a new challenge at Bunny Zoe's Crafts and our challenge this month is Stitching :)

I often use my sewing machine on cards now, I think it adds a little "something".  So I decided to challenge myself a bit more and add a little hand embroidery to it too.
I embroidered little roses onto the web ribbon simply by doing a french knot and a straight stitch for the stem and I was pretty happy with how it turned out :)

Matryoshka Tilda, Magnolia, tilda lace, sweet pea kaisercraft, opulent ovals, pierced oval stax

Isn't this stamp cute?  It's a new Magnolia stamp called Matryoshka Tilda.  I think I might just have to buy, a special little someone, one of these dolls to go with the card now :)

Ingredients :

Stamps : Matryoshka Tilda (Magnolia)
Card : x-press it, crumb cake, Sweet pea (Kaisercraft)
Ink : memento black, antique linen and walnut stain distress ink
Other : big shot, Tilda Lace (Magnolia), opulent ovals (SB), Pierced oval stax (MFT), lt pink web ribbon, flat backed pearls, Tea Thyme button (Prima), linen thread, embroidery floss, copics

copics used :
YG 91, 93, 95
R 20, 30, 81, 83, 85
E 000, 00, 50, 53, 55
W 1, 3
BG 0000, 000, 09, 10, 72, 75

Hopefully you can add some stitching to a card, in some form or other, and join in with the Bunny Zoe Challenge this month.

Banner Kiki La Rue

I made this card for Bunny Zoe's Crafts using the super cute Banner Kiki La Rue by CC Designs.
Isn't she adorable!!!
My youngest daughter loved her because of her hair (it's just like hers) and she LOVED her boots - she said she wants some just like them! (But that's a "no")  :)

I also got to use a die by CC Designs called the Frilly Banner Die, which of course worked perfectly with her :)  I also added the Bow Die  by Whimsy stamps to the banner and they look great together I think.

Banner Kiki La Rue, CC Designs, frilly banner die, sweet pea, kaisercraft, copic

All the papers are from a Kaisercraft pad called Sweet Pea and there are some gorgeous designs in it.
Some of them are even embossed and glossy, like the dot paper I used here.  The scalloped piece is a die-cut from the pad too.

Ingredients :

Stamps : Banner Kiki La Rue (CC Designs), Birthday Letter Seals (Whimsy)
Card : x-press it, crumb cake, vanilla, Sweet Pea (Kaisercraft)
Ink : memento black, Walnut Stain distress ink
Other : big shot, Frilly Banner Die (CC Designs), Bow Die (Whimsy),  Tea Thyme Prima Button, copics

Copics used :

Sugarberry Bliss

Hi and welcome to Day 22 of the Whimsy Stamps 24 Days of Christmas Event :)

The Whimsy Stamps design team are holding a fun event on the Whimsy blog in the lead up to Christmas. Each day from the 1st to the 24th of Dec. a member of the design team will share a holiday creation with you and today it's my turn :)
We will be posting a letter each day.  You need to visit every day, make a note of the letter and keep them safe. Once you've collected all 24 letters, you need to unscramble them to make a 4 word phrase.
Then email your phrase to whimsystampscontests@gmail.com by Dec. 31 2013 and if you've guess right, you will be entered into the draw to win the fantastic Grand prize :)

For my card I've used the beautiful Elizabeth Bell stamp Sugarberry Bliss.  Isn't she gorgeous and her puppy is sooo cute too!
I also used Holiday Sliders 3 for the sentiment and the Large Leafy Flourish Die.

whimsy stamps, sugarberry bliss, elizabeth bell. christmas

So here is today's letter :

We also have some fun Spot Prizes to be won!!!
The prizes could be hidden on the Whimsy Blog or on a Design Team member's blog, so be sure to leave a comment at both places :)

Thanks for stopping by today.

Iris

Today is the start of a new challenge at Bunny Zoe's Crafts and the challenge is Wings.
I decided to use a beautiful new release Whimsy stamp by Syvia Zet called Iris.
She's so sweet isn't she!

iris, sylvia zet, whimsy, copics, fairy, vines die, cambridge court, MME, magicial mini letter seals

The paper is from MME and is called Cambridge Court. There are lots of floral patterns in the pad, but I chose this one because it looked a little similar to her flowers.  And I then took inspiration from the paper and coloured the image with my copics in similar colours. So I have this paper (and the designers at MME) to thank because there is no way I would have chosen these colours myself but I love how it turned out :)

Ingredients :
Stamps : Iris (Whimsy Stamps), Magical Mini Letter Seals (Whimsy Stamps)
Card : x-press it, black, crumb cake, Cambridge Court (MME)
Ink : memento black
Other :  Vines Die (Whimsy), flat backed pearls, light pink raffia lace, bakers twine, big shot, white pen, copics

Copics used :

Peace On Earth

This is my latest card for Bunny Zoe's Crafts.  I've used a CC Designs image called Peace On Earth and
I think she's absolutely adorable!

Peace On Earth, CC Designs, Bunny Zoe's Crafts, Authentique Joyous, Christmas, Copics

I coloured her with my copics and added some star dust stickles to her wings and halo.  I also used the gorgeous Authentique Joyous papers again (I really love this paper pad!)  All the papers on here are from this pad, even the Merry Christmas sentiment is cut out from one of the sheets!  I distressed all the edges with walnut stain distress ink and added some black flat backed pearls too.

I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges :
Stampin for the weekend - Feeling Festive
Charisma Cardz Challenges - Christmas

Ingredients :

Stamps :  Peace On Earth (CC Designs)
Card : black, vanilla, x-press it, Authentique Joyous

Winter Friends

It's challenge time again at Whimsy Stamps and it's an easy one this month - Anything Goes.
There are great prizes to be won too, so please join us :)

I decided to use a beautiful new release Whimsy Stamp by Sylvia Zet called Winter Friends.
It is such a gorgeous stamp.  I love it!!!  Aren't they all so cute!

Winter Friends, Whimsy Stamps, Sylvia Zet, Wee Stamps, Christmas Card, copics

I had lots of fun colouring this one with my copics.
I used a gold spica pen for her head band and around the boots so that is a little sparkly in real life.
I used the Holiday Sliders 3 set again for the sentiment but just cut around the oval shape instead of using the whole stamp.
The snow is a mixture of shabby white and shaved ice fran-tage and the flourish is the Large Leafy Flourish Die from Whimsy Stamps.

Ingredients :

Stamps :  Winter FriendsHoliday Sliders 3
Card  :  grey, black, lucky lime-aid, x-press it, Mistletoe Magic (MME)

Jingle Bell Rudolf

Today is the start of a new challenge at Bunny Zoe's Crafts and the challenge is to make something shabby chic or vintage.

If you follow my blog you'll know that I don't do this style of card very often but here is my attempt at it anyway :)

This is Jingle Bell Rudolf  from Magnolia Stamps.  Isn't he gorgeous!!!
I coloured him with copics and cut him out and placed him on a tag I made using  MME Mistletoe Magic paper.
I also used that paper pad to cut some snowflakes using the La La Land ornate snowflakes die.
The rest of the papers are from the Authentique Joyous pad.
I also stamped the word Christmas from Marianne D collectables corner and winter sent. set onto some cotton ribbon and the Santa sentiment stamp is Seasons Greetings Notables 7  from Whimsy.

Lots of sewing and a bit of distressing and inking with walnut stain and hopefully my card turned out to be shabby chic or vintagey enough :)

Ingredients :

Stamps : Jingle Bell Rudolf (Magnolia), Seasons Greetings Notables 7 (Whimsy), Corner and winter sent. (marianne D collectables)

Card : naturals ivory, x-press it, Mistletoe Magic (MME), Joyous (Authentique)

Ink : memento black, walnut stain distress ink, olive

Other : big shot, Ornate Snowflakes (La la land), flat backed pearls, Christmas charms, star dust stickles, fran-tage, gold spica, cotton ribbon, copics

Christmas Turtle and Dove

I have another Christmas card for Whimsy Stamps to share today.  And I used another cutie from Crissy Armstrong called Christmas Turtle and Dove.

This stamp is wonderful!  It's very cute, it's fun to colour, and there is no snow in sight!
I do love the look of snow on Christmas cards but we don't get snow in Australia at Christmas time and it's great to be able to make a card that fits our kind of Christmas too!

Christmas turtle and dove Whimsy Stamps

Hopefully you can tell that they are meant to be at the beach! :)
I brayered pool party, tempting turquoise and island indigo at the top and river rock at the bottom. I used some clear rock candy stickles to make little dots of foam for the waters edge and added some white gel pen to this too.  Then I added some fran-tage for the sand.

The sentiment is from Whimsy too and is a digi stamp called Sentiment for Christmas.  There are a lot of great Christmas sayings in it and you can make them as big as you like of course to suit your card.  That's the great thing about digi stamps.

Ingredients :

Stamps :  Christmas Turtle and DoveSentiment for Christmas
Card :  pool party, crumb cake, black, x-press it, Quill galaxy, silver glimmer
Ink : memento black, pool party, turquoise, indigo, river rock
Other : big shot, music ef (SB), cosmic star border (MB), rock candy stickles, star dust stickles, circle nesties, pearls, white gel pen, copics

Little Jack

Whimsy Stamps has released so many gorgeous new Christmas Stamps this month and this is one of my favourites.  It's by Elisabeth Bell and is called Little Jack and Bobbin Christmas.
It's so sweet isn't it?!

I used the Holiday Sliders 3 sentiment set again but this time I just cut around the oval and put it on top of a die cut star.  I coloured it with some copics, inked around the edges and used some Fran-tage on it too.  It is such a wonderful sentiment set, you can use it in so many different ways to change the look of it.

I also used some beautiful Whimsy paper designed by Michelle Roos called Winter Frost.

Ingredients :

Stamps :   Little Jack and Bobbin ChristmasHoliday Sliders 3
Card : x-press it, crumb cake, suede, soft sky, Winter Frost
Ink : memento black, crumb cake, walnut distress ink
Other : Big shot, 5 point star (Nellie Snellen), Traditional tag stax (MFT), Stripes ef, frant-tage, linen thread, button, crochet trim, glossy accents, gold spica pen, copics

Snowy

I made another Christmas card for Bunny Zoe's Crafts this week.
This time I used a very cute snowman stamp from High Hopes called Snowy Tag .

I decided to colour him and cut him out to use as a tag (you need to imagine him on a beautifully wrapped present, as I have some cards done but I don't have any presents organised yet!) :)
You could use him as a cute bookmark too!

And then I coloured him again but this time just his hat, face and scarf and cut them out and used them on the card.

I die cut some letters and coloured around the edge of them with the same copics that I used to colour his face W3 and BG000.

I used the gorgeous  Joyous papers by authentique again.  The black has lots of Christmas sentiments in different languages and the red is a fun Christmas find a word  (the scroll at the bottom is on the paper, it is not part of my watermark :)

My daughter has a male teacher this year and I thought she might like to give this card to him so I resisted the urge to put stickles on the snowman or letters in case it made it too "pretty".  I did use some of the black flat backed pearls as accents though.

This stamp is actually very versatile.  It makes a great tag of course but there are lots of other ways it can be used if you just use the top portion of the image. Plus .... he's lots of fun to colour.

I would also like to enter this card into the "It's Snowing" challenge over at High Hopes Stamps.

Ingredients :

Stamps : Snowy Tag (High Hopes)
Card : RH Red, x-press it, Joyous (Authentique)
Ink : memento black
Other : timeless type alpha (sizzix), big shot, circles (SB), black flat backed pearls, copics

Lighting a Candle

Today's card is one I made for Bunny Zoe's Crafts and I used a really sweet image from their store called Daisy Lighting a Candle by Marianne Design.

It was one of those times when the card didn't turn out like I originally thought it would.  I was going to colour her all cute and use bright colours but then I started looking at the papers from  Mistletoe Magic and decided to paper-piece her dress and then she ended up being a bit shabby-chic looking, so I went with that. She's still very cute though!
The little "Christmas" sentiment is also by Marianne Design and is called Corner and winter sent.  It comes with a corner die but I decided to use it this way instead

Ingredients :

Stamps : Corner and winter sent (Marianne Design Collectable), Daisy Lighting a candle (Marianne Design)
Card : x-press it, black, vanilla, naturals ivory, Mistletoe Magic (My minds eye)
Ink : memento black, crumb cake
Other : big shot, opulent ovals (SB), ovals (SB), black flat backed pearls 4mm, fran-tage, star dust stickles, flowers (SU)

Santa Baby

I've made another Christmas card for my slowly growing stash :)
This time I've used Santa Baby from Whimsy Stamps.
Isn't she cute!

I used copics to colour her and then cut her out and I used Fun Flock for the first time too.
The extra dimension and "fluffiness" does look great on her dress and hat.

Ingredients :
Stamps :  Santa Baby
Card : olive, x-press it, brights core'dinations, Vintage Summer (Little yellow bicycle)
Ink : memento black
Other : fun flock, big shot, cross stitch #2 ef (sizzix), cosmic star border (memory box), copics

Cherish Wyanet

The challenge on the Whimsy Stamps Blog this month is to make a card which is Shabby Chic or Vintage.
I don't tend to do that style of card very much.
Possibly my card is a Clean Shabby Chic one?  I'm not sure that's even possible but perhaps I've created a new style! :)

This stamp is called Wyanet (Beautiful) and it's by Syliva Zet.  She really is gorgeous isn't she!
I thought I might colour her with my warm greys (there is just hint of pink on her cheeks) and try to bring a vintage, sepia photo feel to it.

Hopefully you'll join us in the challenge this month, and you may even be lucky enough to win a prize :)

Ingredients :

Stamps : Wyanet, Birthday Letter Seals
Card : suede, crumb cake, x-press it, SU dsp, subtles core'dinations
Ink : memento black, crumb cake, baja
Other : big shot, circle nesties, double scallop doily die, fancy fan ef, crumb cake seam binding, subtles candy dots, fran-tage, copics

Special Gift

Kraftin’ Kimmie has a whole range of challenges this week in celebration of World Card Making Day.  I thought I would enter one and use another image from the wonderful Joyful Holiday set.

This set is really versatile because 2 of the 3 images can be used for birthday cards as well as Christmas cards and that is what I decided to do.  This image is perfect for any friends of my daughters because she is wearing a onesie.  I’m not sure if the whole world has caught onesie fever like we have in Australia but I’m sure they would love this card just because she’s in one!

I am entering this card into the Paper Piecing challenge at Kraftin’ Kimmie.  I paper pieced the box and the bow and used the same papers in the background too.

Ingredients :
Stamps : Joyful Holiday (Kraftin’ Kimmie)
Card : x-press it, black, saffron, Authentique – Delightful
Ink : memento black, versafine black, saffron
Other : circle nesties, big shot, subtles button, bakers twine, kindyglitz, gold spica, copics

A circle of friends

Welcome to our Circle of Friends blog hop especially for our dear DT member and friend Bev Rochester
Unfortunately, Bev has had to take a little break from crafting over the past few months due to ill health. We are missing her here at Whimsy and want to let her know that we are thinking about her and wishing her a speedy recovery. Even though the Whimsy family is scattered all around the world, we have come together as a circle of friends to show Bev our love and support by each making her a card. Although this hop is for Bev, we do hope you will hop along with us to support our wonderful teammate and friend. If you arrived here from Jacque Beddingfield’s blog, then you are in the right place! If you’ve happened upon this post by chance and would like to hop with us, hop on over to the Whimsy Stamps blog to begin the hop.

I wanted to make Bev something bright and happy that will hopefully make her smile.

I decided to use the beautiful Beau and Bashful stamp by Sylvia Zet again.  I decided to just use Beau though, so I coloured him with my brightest copics, added some sparkle to his horn and cut him out.  I wanted a sentiment about making someone’s day brighter and I didn’t have one so I just printed this up myself and sponged a cloudy sky over the top of it.

I know it would make a great Get Well card for a little girl but I’m really hoping that a big girl like Bev will appreciate it too :)

I hope it did brighten your day a little Bev and I hope you start feeling much better really soon.

Ingredients :
Stamps : Beau and Bashful
Card : x-press it, celery, limeaid
Ink : pool party, memento black
Other : big shot, grassy edges die (MFT), kindy glitz, pearl pen, Romantic Rectangles (spellbinders), copics

copics used:

So now it's time for you to hop over to ... Debbie Eastman’s Blog.
Finally, here is a full hop list in hopping order:

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Happy Deer

I had fun looking at the new September release at Kraftin’ Kimmie a couple of weeks ago.  Their design team had made some wonderful cards so I left them some comments and I was VERY lucky and won this set called Joyful Holiday.  It arrived this week and I decided to make a card with it straight away.  There are actually 3 really cute stamps with sayings in the set but this one is my favourite.  Isn’t she cute!  And I LOVE the sentiment that goes with her :)

I would like to enter this card into the Kraftin’ Kimmie challenge this week which is Inspired By Nature and also the challenge at Creative Card Crew where the challenge is to make or use a tag.

This is a very sweet stamp by Sylvia Zet called Beau and Bashful.  They are part of the new release at Whimsy Stamps this month.
And I love them and so do my girls of course :)

I decided to colour them in blue and purple because I love this colour combination and I have just added a couple of copics to my BV and BG collections and wanted to try them out.  And at Bunny Zoe’s Crafts the challenge this month is to add something blue and I wanted to play along :)
There are so many fun ways you could colour these two and they could be used for lots of different occasions.
It’s a great stamp!

Horse Love

This is a card I made using a new Whimsy Stamp by Crissy Armstrong called Horse Love.

IMG_6839

Isn’t this image so sweet!  If you have a girl that loves horses then this stamp is a must have I think.  My girls aren’t really horse crazy (although they do like them) but they both have good friends who are. I think this will be a great card for one of them. (I probably should make another one too!)

I would also like to enter this card into the challenge at Stamp and Create.  Their challenge this month is Birthdays.

Ingredients :

Stamps : Horse Love, Treasured Moments Tickets

Card : river rock, pool party, x-press it, paper?

Welcome Favourite

This is the third Christmas card my friends and I made at my card class on Saturday.  This one was my favourite, probably because it is using one of my favourite colour combinations : Crumb cake, Pool party, Vanilla and Midnight Muse.  I found a new to me challenge called Loves Rubber Stamps Challenge Blog and their challenge this week was to use your favourite colour combo, so I did :)
