Superhero Baby

I have a card to share today featuring Superhero Baby from Mo's Digital Pencil.

I needed a card for a baby boy and I wanted it to be fun and a bit different.  This stamp was so perfect and I loved colouring him and creating the background too.

The background was created using distress oxide and distress ink with the Sun Rays stencil from Whimsy Stamps and then splattering it with gesso.

The Superbaby sentiment comes with the stamp and I just typed the other part of the sentiment on the computer and cut it out.

I wanted to have Superbaby standing on a cloud but I don't actually have a die like that so I used a cloud stencil instead.  I just sponged ink along a cloud edge and then cut it out myself.  It's amazing that I have never thought to do that before! haha :)

Glittery Celestial Tree

I have a card using Lavinia Stamps to share today.

I used the small Reindeer, Pipin, Celestial Tree and the little flower at the base is from the Foliage set.

The background was made with the Smoosh Technique and Distress oxide inks.
It is a one of a kind background that I'm not sure I could replicate unfortunately but it is great to be able to give someone such an individual card. as it turned out pretty cool I think.

I sponged on some mowed lawn oxide ink for the grass at the bottom and used peacock feathers distress ink around the outside to really draw your attention to the centre of the card.

I then used a glittery gold gel pen for a flurry of ''blossoms" on the tree.

I decided to leave this card sentiment free so that I can use it for pretty much any occasion :)

Make a Wish

I have made a cute card this week with an adorable stamp from Mo's Digital Pencil called Make a Wish.

You could use this stamp for so many different occasions and I thought a Best Wishes sentiment would work for most of them.  I stamped the word 'best' from an MFT set I have and die cut the 'wishes' from a Pinkfresh Studio die called Sending. I cut the word out a few times and glued it together for some dimension.

The background was done using an "old school" product, an embossing folder.  I still use them occasionally because I love the look. Especially when it's sanded back like I've done on this card.

I loved colouring her with my Copics.
She's just so cute!!!

Life is Like a Balloon

I have made something other than a card today using some wonderful images from Mo's Digital Pencil.

I LOVE this stamp set! It's called Life is Like a Balloon and I thought it would work beautifully in my art journal.

I started off by making the background. I used some acrylic paints and a cloud stencil for the sky and some distress oxide inks for the ground with a fern stencil. I also used some black ink through a text stencil and darkened the edges of the pages with it too.

I then brushed gesso over the top to soften the look and with markers drew a border to frame everything.

I used copics to colour the images and fussy cut them out and I cut the sentiment into strips and drew a border around these also.  I left the "balloon" word out of the sentiment and instead used a die to cut this out for greater impact.  I also added some black ink splatters and some highlights with white pen.

This is a gorgeous stamp and I love the sentiment too!  I will definitely make cards with these two sometime soon.

Skateboard Schoolboy

Recently I had the difficult challenge of making a birthday card for a teenage boy!  They can be tricky but I had a look through the wonderful boy images at Mo's Digital Pencil and found this one called Skateboard Schoolboy and thought he would be perfect.

I coloured him with Copics and cut him out.  Then I used a Tim Holtz brick stencil and sponged Speckled Egg Distress Oxide onto black card. I love the way this turned out :)

The sentiment is from a great die by Pinkfresh Studio called Sending.

Warm Christmas

I have a cute card to share for Mo's Digital Pencil today.

I do love creating wintery Christmas scenes but that is really the opposite of what an Australian Christmas is, so this stamp called Warm Christmas was such a perfect one for me.  She is adorable and I love the Christmas Bush flowers blowing about too :)

I coloured the scene with Copics and added some wink of stella to the outside of her wings and the white flowers. The sentiment is included with the stamp and I simply cut it out and added a hand-drawn border to it.

I added Pinkfresh Studio's Stitched scallop square die to it and mounted it onto a sheet of LawnFawn watercolor paper.

Peace Love Joy

I have a Christmas card to share using some beautiful Lavinia Stamps.

I created the wreath using Berry Wreath with mini berries.  I stamped it in black and with Mowed Lawn distress ink.  I also used the little branch from the Foliage Set with mowed lawn that I'd stamped off.  The berries were stamped with a metallic ink.

I stamped the Small Reindeer and Pippin onto the wreath and coloured the tiny berries with gold and copper sparkle pens.

I then used the mowed lawn distress ink mixed with water to do a little watercolour wash around the outside of the wreath.  Nothing fancy and super easy but I like the way this turned out :)

I then added a sentiment strip from Kaisercraft called First Noel - Calm.  It is a whole page of Christmas sentiments gold embossed on black.  I think it looks great with the Lavinia Stamps.

I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges :

Lavinia Stamps Challenge - winter's dream
