Happy World Card Making Day 2013!

World Card Making Day is a holiday especially for card makers around the world to ... celebrate the creativity of handmade cards and the personal connection that they create between friends and family, AND to kick off (and get a head start on) the holiday card-making season! Today, Whimsy Stamps is celebrating World Card Making Day 2013 with our very own BLOG HOP! 

I decided to make a card for my Daughter's violin teacher.  There are music exams coming up and she has been helping her so much with her studies that I wanted to make a special card to say "Thanks for everything".

I used Jo Davies' gorgeous Bookish girl again.  I love her and thought she would work well if I also added a few musical touches to the card.  I used the new sentiment set Holiday Sliders 3 as a pretty backdrop for the sentiment from Treasured Moments Tickets too. I embossed it with white embossing powder and cut it out with the slider 3 die and then cut the other sentiment out and stuck it on top.  Sliding this partly behind the main image makes it into a nice "file tab" kind of shape which I like.

Ink : memento black
Other : big shot, slider 3 die, music notes (MFT), pretty posies (MFT), pearls, pearl brad, crystal effects, copics, white ep, music ef (spellbinders)

I love all of Jo's images so it was very hard to choose which one to use.  But I decided on Bookish.  I love her and she was so much fun to colour too! I'm sure I'll be using this stamp a lot!
