Guy’s Celebrate

This week at still addINKtive we have another sketch and colour challenge for you.

I had a guy’s card to make and I thought these colours would work but I made a torn frame around the square instead of using the scallop. I just think it would have looked too “girly”!

I stamped the world and the log in turquoise and crumb cake and then embossed the ship with choc chip over the top.  I also embossed the sentiment flag.

I used the woodgrain embossing folder on crumb cake and wiped the white ink pad over it to highlight the grain.

I made the compass embellishment by stamping on starfruit in choc and then again onto white.  I used a little turquoise marker on the points and punched out circles with different sized punches.  The centre (white circle) was cut by hand though.

Ingredients :

Stamps : perfectly penned, french foliage, the open sea

Card : choc chip, white, crumb cake, starfruit

Ink : choc chip, turquoise, crumb cake, versamark, white

Other : antique brads, circle punches, square punch, clear embossing powder, big shot, wood ef,

Please take a look at what our still addINKtive team have come up with this week and show us what you create using our sketch, colours or both :)

  1. Very nice manly card, Kathy! The little tears on the sentiment flag are SO perfect with this set and card. I LOVE it.

  2. Kathy, this is amazing, I love how you used the colors and the torn mat is fabulous!!

  3. Fabulous man card Kathy, I like the torn edges of your square and the embossing and compass embellishment.

  4. Kathy, this is a gorgeous guy card and a great take on the scallop square.

  5. Great masculine card, I think the torn frame works better than a scallop one for this. I have just pinned it for future inspiration. We must catch up soon!

  6. I haven't used this stamp set for so long now and it's one of my favorites. I love the torn edges on the Chocolate Chip Cardstock layer. So appropriate with the stamped images!

  7. What a beautiful card for a guy. You're so right about the torn frame. Love the woodgrain background and your 'collage' stamping.

  8. This is a spectacular masculine card! Love the wood grain, and the torn square is perfect for this card!

  9. This is such an awesome masculine card, Kathy. The distressed edges of both the mat & banner are perfect, & I love the pop of colour from your fabulous compass. :)
