Dolly

Hi :)  It's Kathy here.  I have a card to share with you today using a gorgeous stamp by Sylvia Zet called Dolly.

I had to choose her to use because I think she is so incredibly sweet, beautiful and cute all rolled into one!

I coloured Dolly with a bright bunch of flowers and clothes to match because I wanted to make a very happy and fun birthday card.

But you can create a totally different vibe just by making different colour choices.
So she could be used to make fabulous thank you, thinking of you and get well cards too.

I coloured her with Copics and then cut out that panel with the Envelope Edger Die Set.
This gives such a lovely border on cards. I'm a bit addicted to using it I must admit :)

I also used the Happy Large Word Die again because I LOVE this die too!!!
I cut it twice using black card and glued them together for a little more height.

I stamped the little "birthday" from Everyday Scripted Sentiments and cut around it by hand.

Copics used :

E 000, 00, 04, 11, 13, 21, 39, 41, 42, 43, 44, 47
R 00, 20, 22, 24, 30, 56
RV 0000, 00, 02
BG 11, 13, 15, 72
G 24, 82
YG 11, 13
Y 13, 15

I kept this card clean and simple so that Dolly was the main focus.
She definitely deserves to be the star of the show :)

Word Art Wednesday - anything goes with a sentiment

Thanks for dropping by today :)

Bunny Balloons

I am very happy to be a Guest Designer for Whimsy Stamps again this month :)

There are so many adorable designs in their store that it's truly hard to decide which one to choose!
The little bunnies in this set called Bunny Balloons were just too sweet to leave in the shop though and I just had to have them :)

I decided to use this bunny but there are 3 different ones in the set.
I coloured him with copics and cut him out.
I then stamped the balloons again onto some patterned paper and cut them out.
I used black soot distress ink around the left side and glued them to the first balloon outline that I stamped.

The sentiment is also from the Bunny Balloons set.
I simply stamped it in black, cut around them by hand and added some black soot distress ink to them too.

To create the background I applied Tumbled Glass, Shaded Lilac and Faded Jeans Distress Inks to white card.
Then I used the Sun Rays Stencil and white craft ink with a touch of purple paint added to it.
Once it dried I added some water drops.

I backed this piece onto some black card and adhered it to a kraft card base.
I did a little doodling with a fine black marker along the edges and attached bunny and balloons with foam adhesive to give him some added dimension.
I glued the sentiment on and drew around bottom edges with a charcoal pencil and blended it a little with my finger.

I like the way the bunny looks like he's getting carried away and off the top of the card :)

What a wonderful set of stamps this is!
I actually chose it because I thought I would make a nice baby card with it but then ended up with something entirely different.
There are just so many possibilities that my imagination is racing :)

Copics used :

W 00, 1, 3, 5, 7
R 30

I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges :

Word art Wednesday - sentiment

Southern Girls Challenge - anything goes
