Forever Young and Happy

This week at stilladdINKtive we are featuring the Stampin Up set Forever Young.

This is not a challenge week but we would like you to link up cards that you have made previously using this set and hopefully make a brand new card with it too.

This will be a great resource where people can get inspiration from what others have done with a set. I think it will also inspire us to get out a set that may not have seen ink in a while and use it again.  I know I have a few sets like that because once something brand new arrives I tend to use that instead.

Anyway here is my new Forever Young card :

I really love the tree in this set.  It is so beautiful!

I brayered a background for it.  I used lucky limeade and pool party at the bottom and pip and wisteria at the top.  I don’t know what I’ll do when SU retire wisteria and (especially) pool party, I use them a lot and they make such a pretty brayered sky.  I think I will just have to continue to use them anyway!

Ingredients :

Stamps : Forever Young, Perfectly Penned

Card : white, pool party, espresso

Ink : espresso, limeade, pool party, pip, wisteria, white

Other : big shot, fancy fan ef, delicate designs ef, labels framelits, paper piercing pack, brayer, espresso taffeta ribbon

I hope you’ll take a look at the wonderful creations using Forever Young at still addINKtive.  Link up your past cards, make a new one or if you don’t have it, let us show you how much you truly “need” this gorgeous set :)

  1. I couldn't agree more with your comments about the colours soon to retire. I especially love Pool Party. LOVE this card and the gorgeous colour combo Kathy!

  2. Gorgeous, Kathy! Your brayering skills are fantasic! I think we should go ahead and start protesting so that Pool Party never retires. It's such an awesome color!

  3. Kathy I love your brayed colours offset by the White and Pool Party with the embossing, simply stunning.

  4. Wow! Your brayering is amazing and al the elements on this card are just beautifully put together. I think SU should never allow Pool Party to retire! Thanks for creating such an inspirational card for our first Spot that Stamp Set week.

  5. Your brayered background is absolutely gorgeous, Kathy, & highlights that fabulous tree perfectly. Love the balance of colours on your card & those dainty espresso borders! Ditto what everyone has said about pool party - don't want to say goodbye! :)

  6. What a totally gorgeous card, Kathy. The brayered background is a stunning backdrop to the silhouette tree. The style of the sentiment is perfect with it.

  7. I love the colors you used in your brayered scenery Kathy. The colors are so soft & soothing. Great card!

I love comments!
