Go-pher it

I have some exciting news to share!
I was invited to be a Guest Designer for SugarPea Designs this month :)
I have LOVED their stamps for a long time now.
They have so many great designs that are cute and sweet and fun.
And I feel so lucky to get the opportunity to play with some of them in their challenges.

Here is the Mix It Up Challenge :

I decided to use the sketch side and the super-cute Go-pher It stamp set.
I wanted to make a Thank you card for a male and I thought this gopher and sentiment would be just perfect :)

I grunged up the kraft cardstock and I diecut a circle but then ripped and tore it more and used foam tape to give it dimension and give the impression of looking through a hole or tunnel.

Ingredients :
Stamps - Go-pher It (Sugarpea designs)
Card - x-press it, kraft
Ink - memento black, antique linen distress ink, versamark
Other - circle die, tag punch, stardust stickles, white ep,  glossy accents, copics

Copics used ;
 E 11, 13, 31, 33, 35, 50, 53, 55
Y 11, 13, 15, 28
BG 0000, 000, 11
R 30
YG 91
W 00, 1, 3, 5, 7, 9
C 1, 3, 5

I hope you'll play along with this fun challenge at SugarPea Designs.  You might even win a prize :)

Thanks for dropping by today :)

Sweet Penguins

I really felt like making something Christmasy this week so I grabbed one of my all-time favourite sets by CC Designs. I just love these sweet penguins SO much and I had lots of fun colouring them.

I found a background piece I had made ages ago using the Bokeh technique and decided to use it with the cute penguins.  It was very bright through, so I placed a piece of vellum paper over the top of it which also added some extra dimension and looks great.

Ingredients :
Stamps : Sweet Penguins, My cupcake twila
Card : x-press it, snowy day (CC Designs), vellum paper, shimmery white
Ink : memento black, versamark, white craft ink, turquoise
Other : Circle die, layering tags die, silver ep, Copics

So this is my first Christmas card for the year.  I LOVE making them, so hopefully there will be lots more to come :)

I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges :

ABC Christmas Challenge - S for Sew What
Anna's Craft Cupboard - colour challenge
Work it Wednesday Simon Says Stamp - Stamp

All of the stamps are from this set and I used the matching outline die too. It comes in very handy for cutting out this many little elements.

Clove with Coffee

I have another card for CC Designs today using one of the new stamps from the Rustic Sugar range.
This one is Clove with Coffee.

I decided to leave it without sentiment so that I can use it whenever there's an occasion that I need a guy card.  I think it would work for just about anything :)

I coloured him with blue and grey copics to match this gorgeous paper by Maja Designs and used distress inks around the edges of all papers.

Ingredients :
Stamps : Clove with coffee
Card : x-press it, crumb cake, espresso, Vintage Autumn (Maja Designs)
Ink : memento black, distress ink (walnut and linen)
Other : rectangle die, copics
