At Just Add Ink this week we have a photo to inspire you.
If you live in Hobart like me, this looks absolutely idyllic. I think we’ve had rain, sleet, snow, gale force winds and temperatures under 10degrees every day for more than a week now! It feels like it will never end!
So I wasn’t really in a “warm” mood when I created this but I was definitely inspired by the photo. The sea, the sky and the leaves and flowers trailing over the railing were my inspiration.
I decided to make a Joy Fold card. Chantelle made a great card and tutorial for the JAI blog hop and I used her instructions but made my front panel slightly smaller. I have made a joy fold before but haven’t for a long time. It was great how that blog hop encouraged me to try new folds and rediscover old ones.
I finally bought the Elegant Lines embossing folder last week and decided it would work perfectly with the water theme. It is very pretty and I’m happy with my purchase! The main panel is sponged onto glossy white cardstock and stamped with stazon. On the white I have clear embossed the same swirly leaf pattern from Vintage vogue and I rock and rolled the flowers from that set with PIP and rose red.
Ingredients :
Stamps : Vintage vogue, punch bunch
Card : white glossy, black, white, baja
Ink : stazon, versamark, pip, rose red, NQN
Other : white brads, big shot, elegant lines, glue dots, clear ep, circle punch, scallop trim border punch, sponges
Please check out what the rest of the design team came up with this week and I hope you’ll be inspired to make a “warm” card too.

This is so cool (in a warm way!). Your sponging is divine, not to mention all the fussy cut flowers! I must give this Joy fold a go again too - I haven't made one for ages either!!
ReplyDeleteLovely card Kathy. I think you have really captured the theme for your challenge.

ReplyDeleteThis is such a nice card! I too loved the fancy fold blog hop and hope to use many of them in time. Love the embossing. Theresa x
ReplyDeleteThis beautiful Kathy. I love how you mixed texture and sponging and those very pretty pink flowers to create such a lovely scene. It really captures the essence of the photo.
