Thinking of Paisley

My club hostess asked me if we could make a card with this Spiced Paisley set tomorrow.  So I looked at some of my favourite challenge blogs for inspiration.

Well ColourQ have an amazing combo this week and I decided to give it a try.

I thought they were pretty weird colours to put together actually.  I never would have chosen them, NEVER!  But Arielle has a great “eye” and isn’t scared of unusual colour combos obviously! LOL

Ingredients :

Stamps : Spiced Paisley, Curly Cute

Card : vanilla, calypso coral, vellum card

Ink : bravo burgundy, pool party, pumpkin, stazon, versamark

Other : white embossing powder, square punch, big shot, polka dot ef, everyday enchantment brads

The “flower” is actually white embossed onto vellum cardstock and I cut a piece of calypso coral in the same shape to place behind it.

I actually love how this turned out.  The colours really do work well together and I think the hostess will love it too!  Thanks ColourQ!

  1. I LOVE this especially the beautiful vellum flower. A wonderful layout and great use of the stamp set.

  2. As a big fan of anything paisley, I LOVE this! You really highlighted this set perfectly.

  3. Gosh this is gorgeous Kathy. I would never have chosen those colours together, but gee they look good.

  4. Love your Paisley card, Kathy, beautifully stamp! Thanks for joining us at the ColourQ this week and sharing your card!

  5. I got quite a chuckle about your comment about these "weird colors!" When I actually sat down to make a card for this challenge, I ended up with several before I was happy! But your card is unbelievably gorgeous! I think paisley is a natural for eclectic colors like these!

  6. Great job showcasing those paisley designs! Love your matting too!

  7. Kathy, such a beautiful card!! When I saw this on my blog-roll, it actually made me participate in the challenge. The colours really stumped me before I saw what you had done with them. :)

  8. These paisley stamps are perfect for this bold color combo! I agree that Arielle has a real gift for finding fresh and fun palettes, and I'm so glad you gave them a chance. Your card is beautifully stamped! Thanks for joining us this week at the ColourQ!

  9. They are fun colors that Areille put together, and I LOVE what you did with them! Fun card, I love the paisleys:) Thanks for playing ColourQ this week!

  10. Wonderful stamping, love the paisley.

I love comments!
