Tiramisu Wedding

I was asked by the school Principal if I would make a wedding card for one of the teachers. I also needed it to be bigger than my usual cards so that all the staff could sign it.

So I went searching for some challenges to give me some inspiration. I have only made one or two wedding cards and I don’t have many stamp sets that are appropriate for a wedding either, so I was a little stressed.

I found a fantastic sketch at Mojo Monday that I thought would work well with a larger card (my card is actually one A4 sheet folded in half). I’m sure I’ll be using this sketch again, it’s a beauty!

I also found a “new to me” challenge site called The Lollipop Ladies and their challenge is Tiramisu with the additional challenge of layers. I thought they would be lovely colours for a wedding card (and just a little different without being too different). I used shimmery white, vanilla, crumb cake and a dash of espresso for the colours and of course there are lots of layers too.

And this is what I came up with:

The only set I have for a wedding card really is an oldie (but one of my favourites), Always. I clear embossed the heart onto shimmery white with crumbcake ink and cut it out and then stamped the hearts again onto vanilla and used white embossing powder. I cut these hearts out smaller so that there was the embossed crumbcake dots showing around the outside.

I used the double bow tutorial by Ann Schach again too, but it’s a triple instead of double this time and I decided not to crumple the ribbon on this one. I also dug out an old sentiment stamp (that I love and have had in my collection for years) and stamped it with espresso.

Big and beautiful

This week at Just Add Ink we have a great sketch challenge from Bronwyn.

Here is what I came up with :

I decided to try to make a collage for my background and then cut it into three panels to fit the sketch. I used a few different stamps and colours and I think it worked quite well.

The flower is big and beautiful. I made it as I’ve made these paper flowers before but this time I used the island floral die, fancy flower punch and the five petal flower punch. It actually looks better in real life, it kind of looks a bit flat in the photo but it isn’t. I also decided to see how it would look with different coloured petals. I used pink pirouette and blushing bride and spritzed it with champagne shimmer mist so it’s actually a bit sparkly. I really like how it turned out.

I also tried something new with the bow. It is a double bow with crumpled seam binding. I found a really great tutorial by Ann Schach here if you’d like to give it a try too.

Triple Z

This is another z-fold card I made using the SAB dsp and my new triple treat flower and punches.

It has a boho kind of look which doesn’t translate particularly well in a photo unfortunately. It does look prettier in real life.

I really like the band on this one. I used the tasteful trim die to cut the border pattern from peach parfait and I did some faux stitching on it too.

Happy Sunshiny Card

This week at Just Add Ink we have a colour challenge.

And this is what I came up with…..

I had seen a sketch challenge early last year and had bookmarked it (it was even before the days of “pinning”) hoping to give it a try one day. I thought it was such a cute sketch! Well I finally decided to use it with this colour challenge and I love the way it turned out. There is a tutorial by Shannan Teubner here if you’d like to give it a try too.

My daughters had been bugging me for a while to buy the triple treat flower and I finally gave in and got it. This is my first card using it and they were right, it is very pretty! I’m sure we’ll all have lots of fun coming up with different colour combos for it. I decided to white emboss it onto wisteria and pool party cardstock for this challenge.

Bubbly Mermaid

There is another wonderful sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week and I just had to play along.

I brayered the circle with pool party, turquoise and NQN and then stamped the splash from extreme elements with white over the top.

My girls’ love this bubbly mermaid card. It will be a great one to have on hand ready for one of the many birthday parties my youngest gets invited to :)

Z Flower

I have my stamp club tomorrow and our hostess asked if I could show them how to make a Double Z fold card. I decided to work this in with the challenge at The Paper Players this week which is to add a flower to your project. There are so many beautiful cards on their site, it is inspiring.

This is the outside of the card. I have used a band to keep it closed and added a beautiful paper flower, which is something else I’ll be able to teach my club ladies. I first saw one on Joanne Leddy’s blog, there is a tutorial here if you’d like to see how it’s done.

This is how the card looks once you remove the band and open it up.

Ingredients :
Stamps : Fresh Vintage, Field Flowers
Card : black, vanilla, everyday enchantment dsp, poppy parade
Ink : stazon, calypso coral & lucky limeade markers, crumb cake
Other : boho, fancy flower, 5 petal flower punches, everyday enchantment ribbon and brad

I think the ladies are going to love making this card.
I hope so anyway :)

FYI : I have been asked if I would provide the measurements for this card, so here they are.
I have altered it from other z-fold instructions I've seen so that I didn't have to use 12 x 12" card.

Cut base card at 15 x 27cm
Score at 4 1/2 and 9 cm in from both ends. (Card is in landscape orientation).
Fold in second score line at both ends and fold back out on first score.

Composition Books

This week at Just Add Ink we have a Back to School Challenge.

During one of my dreaded annual school book buying excursions I found something interesting. OfficeWorks had Composition books for sale. I have often seen altered composition books on US craft blogs and I have wondered what they were and how they were different from our school stationery. Perhaps they have been in Australia before, but I’d never seen them. Anyway, they are just like your usual lined exercise book except that the cover is made of much sturdier card. So they are great books to cover and keep.

I bought a couple for my girls to give them on their first day book at school. They both love to write and often write poems and stories at home so I thought a special book for each of them would be a nice back to school present.

I chose papers, colours and stamps to individualise them.

This one is Keeley’s book. I chose this stamp because it shows two of her favourite things to do: writing and eating biscuits! It actually looks like her a fair bit too! Her favourite colours are pink, green and blue.

This one is Kate’s (as you could probably guess).

She plays the violin and loves purple.

I gave the girls their books on Wednesday (their first day back) and they absolutely loved them!

It would probably be a good idea to go back to officeworks and buy some more of these and make them up for my girls’ friends for birthday presents. It would be a good way for me to use up all the pretty dsp that I’ve been hoarding. I bought these ones the first year I was a demo I think and I love them but have been keeping them for a “special occasion”? I’m glad I’ve finally put them to good use.

I tried glueing the paper on at first but totally mucked that up, so I tried using the big shot adhesive sheets. They worked much better!

Celebrating Dance

There is a great sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches again this week. It’s a long sketch so I raided my “random envelope box” (Yes I really do own such a thing!) and made a card to fit one of the long, skinny envelopes I had.

Usually when I see a sketch it takes me quite a while to think of what I might do with it, what sets to use etc. But I had a very different experience with this sketch.

As soon as I saw it I knew immediately what it was!

It was a stage with one dancer in the spotlight! Obviously!

The night before I saw this sketch, I had read an email from Rita and in closing she said “ I am off to watch Dance Moms. It is worse than Toddlers and Tiaras!” I have watched Toddlers and Tiaras before and I thought “could that even be possible?” So I watched it that night too, just to see.

Well obviously it left a lasting impression on my psyche or something because as soon as I saw this sketch I pictured a stage where there were lots of dancers but just one was in the spotlight. That’s what the show was about basically. All the Mum’s were whinging about a certain one being the favoured one, the star who shone and who always had the spotlight on her. Then there was another part where there was a Mum’s dance and one Mum changed her part of the routine during the concert so that she would be the one “in the spotlight”.

So Thanks Rita (I think?) It was an experience and at least I got a card idea out of it! I don’t think I’ll watch again though – too traumatic!

I just have to say this is one card that just hasn’t photographed well. It looks much better in real life. I have purposely made the “stage” dark and the other dancers can be seen but all the focus is just on The One !

I have put dazzling diamonds on the underside of her tutu (between the folds) and on her crown too. She looks very pretty and it will make a great card for one of my daughter’s friends.

It was so obvious to me that this was a sketch of a stage that I was actually surprised that none of the design team had done one. They have made some really gorgeous cards that amazingly have nothing to do with dancing at all! Ha Ha! Please take a look at FMS and I will be checking the other entries to find out if anyone else saw a stage or if it really was all because of that show!

Happy Paisley

At Just Add Ink this week we have a valentines colour combo challenge.

That is to add any red plus white.

I decided to use the challenge colours, but make a birthday card instead.

My 2 youngest daughters like me to buy them a Stampin Up set for Christmas each year. They spend ages going over the catalogues trying to decide which set to choose :) Anyway this was my 10 year old’s choice this year.

I thought I would use it for this red and white challenge, it kind of reminds me of a bandana.

The red I chose is one that I very rarely use actually, it’s Rose Red. But I thought it looked pretty and really suited the paisley print.

I think this card will be great for one of my daughter’s friends.

Becoming Indie

Last week at Freshly Made Sketches I was made a Princess again for my rocket card. YAY! I love being a princess, thanks for extending my reign by a week ladies.

This week at FMS they have yet another fantastic sketch that I just couldn’t resist.

It’s a square card sketch and I just love square cards! I turned the sketch so that it would work with the cute Penny Black stamp I wanted to use.

I made this cat grey and white because he reminds me of our cat Indie.

I had coloured the image and I was happy with it, all I had to do was stick it to the card. I had it sitting on my craft table and then I realised Indie had actually jumped up and was sitting right on top of it (of course). I quickly picked him up and there were all these scratches all over my work! AAARRGGHH! I tried to pretend that you couldn’t really notice them much. But I knew you really could :( I had to start all over again!

Because I’m a copics newbie it took me a lot of attempts until I was happy with that balloon again. I won’t embarrass myself by saying just how many tries it took!

Perhaps he was jealous that I was spending more time with this cat than with him?

Here is a photo my daughter took of the culprit looking all innocent like.

Sea Happy

This week at Just Add Ink the challenge is to case ME.

So you can copy a card layout or technique I’ve done or perhaps make a card using my “style”.

I can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with!

When I applied for the design team position at JAI, one of the questions I had to answer was “What’s your style?” And I had no idea. I don’t think I have any style at all and others would probably agree. Ha Ha. In terms of card making though, I’m not sure I have a style really because I go from cute kids cards and clean and simple ones to more “shabby, distressed” looks.

Perhaps this challenge will show me what you think my style of card making is?

Here are the two cards I cased.

It is one of my favourite layouts and this will be the 3rd card I have made using it now. This time though, I challenged myself to make it a “manly” card.

I thought I would use my new Open Sea set as there are a lot of great images in it. I was one short though so I raided my stamps in the hope of finding something else and I found the shell in my Nature’s Nest set. It worked perfectly with the others.

I thought I might try something a little different this time and I used the mother of pearl technique on the squares. I stamped the images onto glossy white with Cherry, scrunched up some clingwrap and after dipping it in white shimmer paint, dabbed it over the top. I then sponged suede on to each square and around the sides but tried to keep the centre of the image “clean”. It’s a bit hard to photograph but you can see the pearl effect more on the shell square.

Then I punched them out. I have had a few questions each time I’ve done this layout asking me which square punch I use. It’s the largest square punch. Sorry for not mentioning that before.

I tried to “grunge up” the Happy Birthday banner with some distressing, folding and sponging and I was happy with how it turned out. I love that Perfectly Penned set!

Pumpkin Field

This is the last of my Field Flowers cards using this weeks Just Add Ink sketch.

I loved how this one turned out as well.

I did something a little different to this one. I stamped the flower in pumpkin and then black but then I decided to colour the centre of the flower in a saffron marker. After that I made dots on top of the saffron using a white gel pen.

I brayered on celery then olive at the bottom and saffron, mustard and cajun at the top. The outside of the circle was then sponged with cajun.

I just popped the centre flower up with dimensionals on this card. Each one I did differently to see which way I like best. The first card had no dimensionals, the second had 2 and this one 1. And I still can’t decide which one looked best! I guess that means it doesn’t matter either way. :)

Wisteria Love

Here is another version of the Field Flower card I made for the sketch challenge at JAI this week.

I really liked this colour combo too.

The flowers are first stamped with Wisteria and then with Eggplant.

Then I brayered Pool Party and NQN at the top and Pretty in Pink at the bottom. I sponged around the edge with NQN and stamped the sentiment with stazon.

I stamped the stems with artichoke and cut out the flowers and popped them up on dimensionals.

Ink : stazon, wisteria, eggplant, pip, NQN, pool party, artichoke

I think this sketch just works perfectly with the Field Flowers set.

Happy Rocket

Did you know I became a Princess last week?

My cat card was chosen as a winner at Freshly Made Sketches! It was an honour to be chosen, thanks ladies :)

My youngest daughter had a birthday party to go to this week and so I looked to Freshly Made Sketches again for some inspiration.

Here is this weeks sketch. Another great one!

I went searching through my stamps trying to get inspiration for a boys card and decided to go with the rocket from Pun Fun again. I just love that set!

I stamped the stars from extreme elements in NQN onto NQN and then stamped the “splash” in white over the top. Of course I was going for a “jet effect” not actually a splash in this instance. I stamped the stars in white onto crumb cake for the main panel too.

For the “flame greeting” I just printed it on the computer, cut the shape and then stamped the splash again along the edge with daffodil and real red.

William was very impressed with his card. He looked at it for a while and even showed his Mum. I took that as very high praise indeed from a 7 yr old boy at a birthday party!!! It’s usually just all about the presents.

Love Field

At Just Add Ink this week we have a really fantastic sketch from Bronwyn.

I decided to try using my “new” Field Flowers set again to see whether I could come up with something. When the main Stampin Up catalogue came out in September, Field Flowers and Perfectly Penned were my first two picks. I thought they were so beautiful, but I have tried using these flowers a couple of times and I just haven’t been happy with anything until I tried them with this sketch.

Yay! I actually made a card with them and I am so happy with how it turned out. Aren’t those flowers gorgeous?
It was so much fun experimenting with different colours for the flowers and then also brayering different colour combos to compliment them.
I made 3 different cards using the same sketch and I could have kept going and come up with other colours too I’m sure. I will have the other two cards on my blog over the next week. I couldn’t even pick a favourite, I liked how they all turned out. I will have to try making some more.

Field Flowers is a two-step set. First I stamped with daffodil and then with cherry and cut them out.
I brayered celery and then olive on the bottom of the circle. Daffodil, mustard and cherry at the top. I then sponged around the outside of the circle with cherry. I stamped the stem with olive and used stazon to stamp “with love”.

Copic Cats

Guess what I got for Christmas?

Yes, some Copics!

We have just spent a week away at Dolphin Sands. It’s so beautiful there, but the weather in Tassie is always unpredictable so whenever we go on holidays I take some stamps for the girls and I to colour in.

This year I took some very, very, very old stamps that I haven’t used for years and my new copics. This is my first ever copic attempt. Well actually I should clarify that by saying that there were lots and lots of attempts, but this is my first card using them.

When we got back home I saw that my friend Rita had come up with a great sketch for Freshly Made Sketches this week and I knew I just had to use it for my cat card.

I have only just managed to get this card made and in before the deadline.

There is always so much washing and cleaning to do when you get back from holidays isn’t there :(

Happy Princess

Hi. Yes it’s been a while but I have actually created something to show you!

Just Add Ink has had a little break too but we are back this week with a blog hop to celebrate our 100th challenge.

I bought this Little Princess set for my youngest daughter for Christmas and we spent a lovely crafty day last week stamping together. It is a very cute set and was lots of fun for both of us to colour.

I used lots of dsp and lots of different subtle colours on this card, which is unusual for me, but it did turn out cute and my daughter loves it. I stamped the princess and frog on watercolour paper, coloured them with watercolour crayons and cut them out. They also have dazzling diamonds on their crowns and the wand, but it’s a bit hard to see that in the photo.

2011 Favourites

Being New Years Day, I thought I might take a look back and choose my favourite cards from the past year.

I have made some good and some not so good ones and some you never get to see because I throw them in the bin :)

I was very fortunate last year to win some awards for my cards and to be asked to join two design teams. One was the Splitcoast Creative Crew and one was Just Add Ink. I have loved being on these teams and participating in challenges from other sites. I have learned a lot and have been stretched to try new things plus I’ve also met so many wonderful people because of them.

I thought I might choose my favourite card from each month. But I found that way too hard. Some months I just couldn’t choose between a few (they were obviously my creative months) and some months I was not really “wowed” by anything much. So I’ve just chosen some of my favourites.

January: I won awards with these 3 cards. I also made my first tutorial for the blue butterfly card. A good month!

February: The start of my obsession with ribbon flowers. I still love them! Also a cute ant card that I like a lot.

March: Looks as though I was in “brights” mode.

April: And I can narrow it down to one. But I do love this one!

May: More flowers and I love how both of these turned out.

June: Square cards were in.

July: I was very happy with this attempt at a rowing card.

August: A card and brooch for my daughter.

September: Two great sketch challenges helped me create these cards.

October: Saw the start of my Christmas card making. I love this one, but not a good one to mass produce :)

November: I actually looked at the card I loved that I made back in April and I decided to CASE myself and create a Christmas version.

December: I’d have to say I was a little tired and stressed with so much to do and so many cards to get made. Not a very creative month really and I’m still struggling creatively unfortunately.

Hopefully my crafting mojo will return very soon and I’ll have some new things to show you.

Naughty and Nice Purse

This week is the 99th challenge from Just Add Ink and the last for this year.
Just add Packaging.

I had bought a friend a little gift for Christmas and instead of wrapping it as normal, I thought I would make another one of those cute explosion purses to make it look more special.

This paper is retired now, it is my favourite ever Stampin Up dsp. I have been hoarding it and not actually using it because it’s just too nice to cut! But even though it’s not exactly Christmassy I thought it would make a lovely Christmas bag and I actually used a sheet of it!!! It is card weight dsp so it was just perfect for this.

I used shimmery white which I embossed with the finial press folder and cut with the top note die for the top of the purse. I also made a little tag using a stamp from the Tags til Christmas set. I have used this stamp a lot this year, I think it’s so cute! Then I added a red glimmer brad (which looks much more sparkly in real life) and some retired ribbon for the handle.

I had intended adding some other Christmassy embellishments to it, but decided to take the “less is more” approach in the end. I just liked it better this way.

Trim Tree

The challenge at JAI this week is to Just Add Sparkle.

I decided to make one last Christmas card for this challenge.

The card is much more sparkly in real life. The snow was made using heat and stick powder and dazzling diamonds. I white embossed the snow flakes onto shimmery white and then put a dab of glue and dazzling diamonds in the centre of the larger ones. I sponged pip, pool party and marina mist over the top of the embossing for the sky.

The tree was made using the scallop from the tasteful trim die. I layered these on top of each other and cut the tree out by hand because it ended up being too thick to cut with my paper cutter.

Retiring Butterflies

At Just Add Ink this week we have a gorgeous photo to take some inspiration from.

I had been asked to make a retirement card for a teacher at the girls’ school and I decided to use this photo challenge to inspire me.

I chose similar colours to the bags in the photo for the butterflies and I really liked the way it turned out. I would never have chosen them myself, so hurray for the challenge! I also angled the butterflies in the same way as they have with the bags and I have used more and bigger butterflies at the bottom and got smaller and smaller and less and less butterflies as they go up into the sky. I then just used one rhinestone on the biggest butterfly of each colour, to mimic the silver beads on the bags.
I attached them with mini glue dots and lifted the tops of the wings upwards.

As this was a card for the whole staff to sign I made it a very big one but I’m sure it could be recreated to make a smaller card with fewer butterflies. I always feel a little stressed making cards on behalf of the school and I wasn’t sure what they had in mind exactly for a teacher’s retirement card, but I found the Irish blessing which I thought was beautiful and all those beautiful butterflies just fit with the blessing perfectly. I think it was appreciated by everyone.

Poinsettia Peace

At Just Add Ink this week we have a different kind of challenge.

It is to CASE a member of the JAI team. For this month it’s Tania Gould we’re casing, but I think we’ll all get a go at being cased eventually.

I had a lot of fun looking through Tania’s blog. I saw this pretty card and really liked the layout of it so I decided to CASE it.

I’d say you could try to copy a persons “stamping style” or perhaps their favourite colours or embellishments when casing someone.

But I decided to use the same layout as this card. I also used the pearls and ribbon in the same way and used a flower in the same way too, yet I have created something with a very different look.

I have changed Tania’s pretty pink flower card into a “vintagey” Christmas card.

I still have a lot more Christmas cards to make (even though we are into December now) and I had seen a beautiful card with a poinsettia made like this one here and so this was a great opportunity to try it out. I have changed mine a little because I stamped it using frost white shimmer paint instead of ink.

The flower is made by stamping and cutting a leaf from French Foliage and then using mini glue dots and dimensionals to construct it.

The embossed piece is river rock with soft suede brayered on to the folder before running it through the big shot.

Christmas Violins

At JAI this week the challenge is to make a Christmas card using a non-traditional Christmas set. The design team have come up with a lot of wonderful ideas so please take a look and why not try this challenge yourself.

I wanted to make a unique Christmas card for my daughters’ violin teacher. Unfortunately Stampin Up don’t have a violin stamp so I went looking and found this one. It looks a lot like both of my girls, who have long hair and freckles so I just had to use it. Unfortunately though, because I turned the small one to face her big sister it has made her left handed (which she isn’t) but the card just worked better that way.

Ingredients :
Stamps : Four the holidays, (The Greeting Farm digi) Chibi Violin
Card : real red, shimmery white, vellum cardstock
Ink : stazon
Other : blender pen, aquapainter, watercolour crayons, square punch, mini library clip, dazzling diamonds

I Googled the sheet music for ‘We wish you a merry Christmas’ and printed it on to vellum card. This is on top of a piece of shimmery white.
The girls are on shimmery white too and I used a variety of watercolour wonder crayons and ink pads with an aquapainter and blender pen to colour them. I dressed them in red and green to try to make the card look more “Christmassy”. They are cut out and attached with dimensionals to give the card some depth.
I love the shimmery white card stock, it is so great to colour on and looks beautiful too.
I wanted this card to be special. It’s for an amazing lady who is a wonderful and caring teacher for my girls.
I hope she likes it :)

Club Penguin

At my stamp club last week the hostess asked if we could make a little Christmas treat box.
And this is what we made.

I got the pattern for this box from Brenda Quintana. It’s here if you’d like to try making one too.
You wouldn’t be able to fit a lot in it but it is a very cute little box and you can even hang it from the tree as an ornament.

They’re baaaack

At Just Add Ink this week we have a wonderful sketch from Bronwyn to inspire us.

I decided to make another Christmas card. I don’t enjoy making the same card over and over again so I love using these challenges as a way to build up my supply of Christmas cards.

“They’re baaaack”!

The gorgeous ribbon flower that is. I decided to see whether I could use a flower that wasn’t a poinsettia on a card and make it look “Christmassy” and of course I had to choose this sort of flower :)

I used a leaf from French Foliage with it and I think they worked really well together. I used old olive ink on river rock card and clear embossed them. They look great in real life.

I stamped and embossed clear the Merry Christmas with cherry cobbler. The cherry background has also been embossed with the stripe embossing folder and it really added a lot to the card but unfortunately you can’t see it much in the photo.

With the addition of my favourite ribbon, cherry seam binding, I think my Christmas ribbon flower experiment was a success.

This is the last of my stamp-a-stack cards.

I kind of cased myself with this one because I made a Christmas card last year that is very similar.

Rock and roll ornament

This is another card we made at the stamp-a-stack last weekend.

I used the rock and roll technique on the ornament from Tags til Christmas with wisteria wonder and elegant eggplant. I also coloured rhinestones with a green permanent marker and it was a pretty good match for the wild wasabi branches the ornament hangs from.

I used the edging from the organza ribbon to hang the ornament from the tree and tie a little bow.

I held a Christmas stamp-a-stack on Saturday and it was another successful, fun day stamping with friends :)

This is one of the cards we made. There was no clear favourite for “Best Card of the Day”, but this one did get lots of votes.

I wasn’t entirely sure whether a subtle, vintagey, Christmas card would be appreciated or not. But I did have lots of other bright ones for the ladies to make so I thought I would give it a try. Luckily they actually really liked this one a lot!

Furry friends

The challenge at Just Add Ink this week is to just add a tag or a bookmark. Please take a look at all the wonderful creations the team have come up with.

I created this card for my good friend Rita. Unfortunately she’ll see it on my blog before she gets it in person but I know that being a fellow stamper/blogger/design team member, she will understand :)

Rita and I met online when we were on the Splitcoast Creative Crew together. We started emailing each other regularly and one time I told her how disappointed my girls were that we didn’t get this set (Furry Folk) in the Australian catalogue. They had wanted me to buy it for them for Christmas and then I had to tell them that I couldn’t. Well she bought it for my girls and I and sent it all the way to us inside a little box filled with other goodies and lots of love. I am so very grateful to have found such a kind and caring friend. I feel truly blessed.

I know Rita likes to read, so I thought I would make a bookmark card for her with the set she bought us. I used one of her favourite colours, not quite navy, and I know she loves the rickrack from the Tasteful Trim die so I added that too.

The photo below shows the bookmark when it’s taken out of the card. The sentiment is from an old set called Sweet Serendipity. I won it at the first Stampin Up Regional that I attended a few years ago. I have kept it for sentimental reasons and I thought that it was just perfect for this card.

I had the idea of how I wanted it to be in my head, but I’m not very good at working out that kind of stuff. Luckily I know that Rita will overlook mine and the cards imperfections because she’s such a nice person!

I used my new Stitched Stockings set and coordinating punch to make this clean and simple Christmas card.

Blushing Cherry Ornament

This week at Just Add Ink we have a colour challenge for you.

I have never used this colour combo before and it is just so pretty.

I decided to make another Christmas card to add to my slowly growing collection.
You can’t see it very well in the photo but the cherry cobbler panel that the ribbon is on is embossed with the polka dot embossing folder. It gives the card more dimension and ties in with the dots on the ornament and the pearls on the elegant bouquet embossed panel.
I used the organza ribbon in a new way on this card. I had decided that I wanted the ribbon as a band behind the ornament but I wanted to also tie some ribbon to the ornament to kind of “hang it” to the branch. I tried so many different ribbons, thread and cord, but nothing looked right. Then I had the idea to cut off the edging of the organza ribbon and try that. Well it tied beautifully and worked perfectly with the rest of the card. So I was very pleased with that discovery and I will definitely be using organza that way again :)

Ornament Stack

These are some more of the cards the ladies made at my Christmas stamp-a-stack a few weeks ago.
They are basically the same except one uses the ornament from Contempo Christmas and the other ornament is from Tags til Christmas.

The outer ornaments are all stamped with pretty in pink. The blue card uses marina mist dsp from the subtles pack and the centre ornament is stamped in this colour too.
The other card uses razzleberry dsp from the brights stack and the ornament is also stamped in that colour.

The ladies really liked these cards a lot.

Lovely wisteria trees

This is another one of the cards we made at the Christmas stamp-a-stack I held.

It is using my new Lovely as a Tree set again and this tree is gorgeous too.

This is not an original idea. I always have a look at the stampin up galleries on splitcoaststampers when I buy a new set to get some inspiration and to see different ways people have used it. Well this general idea has been done by a lot of people so I’m not sure who originally thought of it to give them credit but I’m pretty sure I’m the only person to have made this card in wisteria wonder at least!

At Just Add Ink this week we have a wonderful sketch challenge from Bronwyn to inspire us.

I decided to make a Christmas card using my new Tidings of Joy set.
I did change the sketch a little to make it work.

I bought this nativity set because I didn’t have anything else like it (plus it’s cute) and I thought my girls and I would find it fun to colour some Christmas cards together.
I stamped the image using stazon onto shimmery white card and used my crayons and aquapainter to colour.
It was relaxing and fun!

Christmas stamp-a-stack

I held my first stamp-a-stack on Saturday.

8 ladies attended and it was a great afternoon. I had christmas carols softly playing in the background (Boney M christmas cd – the best christmas cd there is in my opinion) although we didn’t actually notice the songs much over all the chatter :)

We made 8 cards (2 each of 4 designs). I asked the ladies which card was their favourite and the answers were pretty mixed actually, so I guess that means there was something for everyone.

This was a little gift card holder that we made.

I was inspired by one I saw on splitcoaststampers by Kelly Acheson. I just altered it a little.

The ladies loved it! I did have a few other sentiments for them to use too, just in case they didn’t like this one, but most of them used it, it’s so cute!

For the owl eyes I coloured pearls with a black permanent marker. They look really great on the owl and are easier to stick on than a tiny black circle of card is.

After making all the cards we had a few Christmas treats for afternoon tea and chatted some more. I also had a little Christmas raffle and Chantel was the winner.

Reindeer Tag

This week at Just Add Ink we have a wonderful photo to inspire us.

I took inspiration from the gorgeous colours and the trees to create this Christmas card.

For the tag, I brayered on more mustard and then cherry cobbler at the top and baja at the bottom.
I then used Not Quite Navy to sponge around the edges.
The deer is stamped in stazon and I white embossed the snowflakes from the Confetti set.
The ribbon for the tag is Cherry cobbler seam binding which has been frayed a bit at the top. It looks gorgeous, I think that is my favourite of all my ribbons at the moment (Oh and I have a lot to choose from! :) The bow for the button is linen thread which I have coloured with NQN ink.
Can you believe this is my first card using Lovely as a Tree? I got it for my birthday and now that I’ve used it I don’t know why I didn’t buy it years ago. It is a really beautiful set!

Merry Pine

I wanted to work on making some more Christmas cards today and I found a great sketch to inspire me at Inkspirations.

I wanted to make a clean and simple Christmas card that could be easily mass produced and this is what I came up with.

I used choc chip and artichoke markers on a stamp from Tags til Christmas and placed artichoke dsp on the bottom half of it and punched it out. Then I used Teeny tiny sentiments and punched it out using the window punch.

Joyful lights

The challenge at Just Add Ink this week is to Just Add a Die Cut.

I have taken this challenge seriously and have used nothing BUT the Big Shot on this card.

I thought I would make another Christmas card for my stash (actually it’s a very small stash at the moment but you’ve got to start somewhere!) :)

I decided to use the Island Floral die to make some Christmas tree lights. After cutting them out of real red card, I used crystal effects on them to make them “glass-like”. They are very shiny and a bit hard to photograph well. I then cut 3 more using glossy white and cut them just for the top bit of the light. I also used some black wire (that I had bought for some crafty something years ago and had never used) to string the lights together.

Then I used my new Tasteful Trim die (you guessed it another birthday present :) I cut 2 scalloped pieces from the subtles dsp stack to represent the Christmas tree the lights are hanging from.

Then I used my Timeless type junior alphabet and cut the word “Joy” from glossy white card.

Ingredients :

Ink : real red (sponged on edge of lights)

Butterfly friends

This week at Just Add Ink we have a fantastic colour challenge.

I was excited to give this colour combo a try because Pool Party is one of my new favourite colours.

Even though these colours are really quite bright, I decided to try making a “subtle” card with them.

The background piece is the elements of style flower embossed in white and I used the emboss resist technique again and sponged pool party and crumb cake over the top of it. Then I sprayed it with vanilla shimmer smooch spritz, although you can’t really see the effect of that much in the photo.

I used crumb cake on the Friendly words wheel and then stamped the kindness matters over the top with stazon. I also stamped the middle butterfly onto calypso coral and cut it out and popped it on top.

I attached the friends tiny tag with a pin from vintage trinkets and added one of the little buttons to the card too. They were another birthday present (Yes, more … I am lucky aren’t I!)

Resist Leaves

On Saturday we had our first new club meeting.
The hostess wanted me to teach them the emboss resist technique and asked if I could use razzleberry on the card too.

This is the card I came up with a few weeks ago.
This one used razzleberry, olive, basic grey and white.

Then for club I decided to do it in 2 other colour ways so that the ladies could choose which one they liked best.

This one used pip, wisteria, celery, basic grey and white.
I think it was the favourite on the day.

And this one used NQN, basic grey and white.
I left the ribbon off this one entirely as I thought it would make a good “man’s” card.

Celebrating Elephants

We have a great sketch challenge by Bronwyn at Just Add Ink this week.

I was given the Under the Big Top set at Tasmanian Regionals a few weeks ago and I wanted to try it out. I did change the sketch a little but it definitely inspired me to come up with this card.

The elephants are standing on a ball on the stamp too but I decided to punch out 3 different sized circles of dsp from the brights stack for their circus balls instead. I thought it would look good in the dsp and I wanted the balls to vary in size.

I used Perfectly Penned for the sentiment and the celebrate today is perfect for a fun circus card I think. You can’t see it real well in the photo, but I used dazzling diamonds on the stars the elephants are holding and on the ends of the flourishes on the sentiment. The elephants are on shimmery white and there is a rhinestone brad at the top, so it is more sparkly than it looks in the photo.

Queen of Clean

You should have heard my family laughing when I told them I was the “Queen of Clean”!

Birthday Butterflies

Today was my last day of holidays and I was determined to make another card with some more of my new toys.

I used the brilliant sketch at Freshly Made Sketches again. I have only just made their deadline, but I loved it so much I wanted to try it again. Thanks for a great sketch Lesley, I’m sure it is one I will use often.

I am also entering this card into the challenge at The Paper Players this week. It is a Clean and Simple challenge to use animals or plants and I’ve used both!

My Razzleberry Foliage card got a “Cut Above Award” from The Paper Players last week. It was a real honour to have been chosen. Thanks so much for all your kind comments :)

I used the emboss resist technique again on this card with Pool Party ink and I white embossed the flower from Just Believe. The butterflies were stamped onto pool party and so saffron card using stazon and then cut out.

Razzleberry Foliage

Wow! Two posts in one day, I must be on holidays and have new stamps to play with :)

There is a great colour challenge at The Paper Players this week. The colours were perfect because the hostess for my next club asked me if we could do something with Razzleberry.

I decided to combine it with the wonderful new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.

My hostess had also asked if I could show everyone the emboss resist technique and so this card was born.

Baby Bunny

Merry penguin

There is a new sketch challenge site in the blogosphere called Freshly Made Sketches. Their first sketch is a great one and I just had to play along.

I had seen some examples of the cute little penguin you can make from the owl punch and I had wanted to give it a try. I thought he would be perfect on a Christmas card.

I used some things I wasn’t meant to on this card. My sister bought me Tiny Tags for my birthday (which is not for a few days) but I knew it would work so perfectly on the penguin’s present that I just had to use it. Hopefully she won’t mind :) The designer printed brads are from my eldest daughter and she said I was very naughty to have used them early. But when I showed her the card she totally understood why and was happy that I did because she thought it was so cute :)

I stamped the confetti snowflakes in white and also rubbed the white pad over the top of the polka dot embossed piece.

I cut the fish shape free-hand, everyone was amazed that it wasn’t a punch or a die. ha ha :) There was some debate about the fish in my house though! My idea was that the penguin got a present from Santa and it was a fish wrapped up in xmas paper and you could tell what it was because obviously a fish would be hard to wrap!!!!! But some in my family just saw it as a cute red striped fish! Oh well!

I printed up a little letter to Santa on whisper white using the chiller font in Word.

You might be surprised to know that owls and penguins have the same handwriting! :)

Very Merry

This week at Just Add Ink we have a colour challenge for you.
The challenge is to use white plus one other colour.
I decided to use white and my favourite stampin up colour Baja Breeze.

I thought I would get Dasher out and make my first Christmas card for the year. I had seen a great sketch challenge at Paper Players last week that I thought would be perfect for him.
My friend Rita had very kindly sent me a little care package with some samples of ribbon and other bits and pieces and this gorgeous baja seam binding was one of the goodies she sent. Thanks so much Rita, what a lovely, thoughtful gift.
I actually used baja ink refill mixed with some frost white shimmer paint to stamp Dasher and I stamped the snowflake from winter post on the baja with it too. I also daubered some onto the embossed piece of shimmery white card. It is very sparkly and pretty in real life.

Ingredients :

Card : baja, shimmery white
Ink : baja, versamark
Other : baja seam binding, baja ribbon (ret.), rhinestones, white embossing powder, big shot, wallpaper ef, rhinestone brad, frost white shimmer paint

I also made the same card in chocolate and white.

It’s very pretty too, I think it just needed white seam binding instead of taffeta to make it look that bit more “special”.
I have a huge Stampin Up order coming this week with more seam binding in it. Can’t wait!
I could (and probably should) make a whole collection of these cards in different colours, but I don’t like stamping that way. I like to create different designs and challenge myself to come up with something new. It might depend on how many cards I have ready by December though :)

Glad we’re friends

This week at Just Add Ink we have a lovely sketch challenge from Bronwyn.

I needed to make a card for one of my daughter’s friends who was turning 10, so I used the sketch and this is what I came up with.

My daughter wanted the card to be a little more grown-up and not so “kiddish”, now that they’re into double digits :) She thought this card was perfect for her friend who loves black, bling and pink.
The flower is actually melon mambo, but in the photo it looks more red than pink unfortunately. I used a black permanent marker to colour the rhinestones and the clear rhinestone brad.

I also used 2 new in colours, pool party and island indigo. I used white craft ink on my finial press embossing folder with pool party and it looked gorgeous.

Daffodil Thanks

I saw this great challenge at ColourQ this week.
They’re not colours I would generally put together but I loved the look of the inspiration photo so much I just had to give it a try.

Friday was daffodil day in Australia and I made some little daffodils from punches, coated them with crystal effects and made them into brooches for my daughters to wear to school. They were having a yellow day to raise money and awareness about cancer.
I made an extra one too so that I could put it on a card and use it for this colour challenge.

The blue is a new in colour called island indigo and it looks so beautiful with the yellow. Actually, I didn’t have crushed curry unfortunately and used daffodil delight instead. Amazingly it’s the perfect colour to make daffodils with, ha ha :)
After using the framed tulips embossing folder on the indigo I used my white craft ink to go over the top of the embossing and a little on the inside panel which gave it a kind of distressed (shabby chic) look.
I stamped the foliage in daffodil and then also embossed some with white embossing powder.

Ribbon stash

This week at Just Add Ink the challenge is to make a card with something you’ve had in your stash for ages and haven’t used.

In my stash was a beautiful roll of marina mist satin ribbon that hadn’t been touched and so I decided to make another one of those ribbon flowers with it.

I thought I would take the opportunity to use some retiring things too. Sadly this ribbon is retiring as are the two stamp sets I’ve used on the card. I used white craft ink to stamp the flourish from friends 24-7 and the words are from a hostess set called Apple Blossoms. Sad to see them go :( But I will have lots of lovely new sets to play with very soon :)

Father’s eggs

For our stamp club last week the hostess asked if I could show them a technique with the big shot embossing folders and if we could make it a Father’s Day Card.

So I decided to teach them Inset Embossing and this is the card some of the ladies made.

Of course I used the Teeny Tiny Sentiments set so that they could change the sentiment and make it for whatever occasion they liked.

The ladies were pretty “wowed” by this technique. It is so easy but very effective.

Look Whoo

This is my last card for the Splitcoast Stampers Creative Crew.

You had to use this sketch, the paper piercing tool and choose 3 colours from this selection : baja breeze, daffodil delight, early espresso, night of navy, pear pizzazz, poppy parade, rich razzleberry, so saffron, soft suede, whisper white.

It was also meant to be for Friendship Day, Sister’s Day or Family Day which are celebrated on the first Sunday in Aug.

Well I did something a little different and made a card for my daughter’s 10th birthday instead, which just so happened to be on the first Sunday in August too!

I decided to make a little owl brooch for her and attach it to the birthday card insert.

All you do is punch a few owl bodies out (6 I think?) and glue them on top of each other (of course decorating the top one). Then I put crystal effects over it and left it overnight to dry. The next day I put a brooch back on the other side, again using crystal effects to adhere it and put crystal effects all over the back too.

I just used my crop a dile to punch 2 little holes on the insert so that I could attach the brooch .

So much chocolate

This week at JAI we have a sketch challenge for you to try.

It looks pretty, but looks can be deceiving ….. I found it to be pretty hard.

Anyway I flipped the sketch and this is what I came up with.

I saw this really cute chocolate holder on Lorri Heilings blog and I just had to make one. She has all the instructions and a print out if you’d like to make one too.

On the inside are the Rules Of Chocolate and a chocolate bar.

Amazingly there were no unopened chocolate bars in my house when I needed to take the photo. I might have to buy quite a few in different sizes in order to get just the right fit. The things we do for our craft :)

Of course I saw this months ago but by the time I got around to making one the Eat Chocolate set had retired :( It’s a keeper though, there are so many great things to do with this set!

Party Time

My daughter had a birthday party last week and these are the invitations I made for her BFF’s.
They are post-it note holders and I simply wrote the party information on the first page of them. My daughter was convinced that turning 10, “double digits”, was a very important milestone, so I decided to make invitations that were a bit fancy and different.
For this one I used the island floral die to cut through about 1/4 of a post it note pad and then made front and back covers from her favourite stampin up colour – Rich Razzleberry.

There was 1 boy invited to the party and I thought he might not appreciate the flower so I made this one for him instead.

I also made these invitations fit the Splitcoast Creative Crew challenge for this month.

My daughter is very into Harry Potter and we played a few “Potterish” games. Just thought I’d show you what we did with the owl punch at the party. I gave the kids scraps of card and dsp and they made their own owls, like Hedwig but more colourful :) Then we put magnets on the back of them. I had my eldest daughter draw a cute Harry Potter Hedwig game (same as pin the tail on the donkey). She is great at drawing and I am not :) We put it on the fridge and they had to get their magnet owls in the right spot. Anyway it was a big hit and they all got to take their owl magnets home at the end of the party. They all loved them!

The challenge at Just Add Ink this week is to just add tearing, ripping or distressing.

I was asked by a friend if I could make a card for her son’s 18th birthday. She said that all she could find in the shops were cards with cars or beers on them. He is not into that stuff and she wanted something personal.

She had 3 criteria:

1. She wanted an “18” on it.

2. She wanted the word “son” on it.

and the really tough one

3. She wanted it to be a rowing card.

I said “Yes” because I could totally relate, having seen the types of cards my son got at that age, but then freaked out a little. What could I possibly make? I did have to really think long and hard about this one.

I have no rowing stamps (I’m not sure whether any actually exist?) and none of the Stampin Up boat stamps either!

She told me that his club was the Buckingham Club (from Tasmania) and I googled it and found the club’s colours were pretty close to our garden green and summer sun (it’s a retired colour, lucky I had a little left!) So I decided to make an oar in the water and used a stamp from Extreme Elements for the splash.

I used the computer to print the happy birthday because I didn’t have a set that said “son” in it. I’ll have to rectify that soon :)

I stamped the splash in versamark and white embossed it and then I sponged baja, NQN and tempting turquoise onto shimmery white.

I was a little scared to tear the bottom edge because that was the last thing I did and I was very happy with what I had created. But, I was so glad I did, it really added an extra dimension to the card and I love how it turned out.

This is a card I made for the new round of challenges at the Splitcoast Stampers Creative Crew.

This month the theme is Friendship and this card is for a colour challenge.

Trendy wood

This week at Just Add Ink we have a colour challenge for you.

I have never tried this combination before but I liked how it turned out.
I decided to make a Thankyou card for a teacher from my daughter’s school, who gave up his entire Sunday recently to take a school team to an Epilepsy trivia challenge in Launceston. I just wanted him to know how much we appreciated it.

I had seen some really gorgeous cards by Jan Tink using the woodgrain stamp a while ago but I had only recently given in and bought it. I had been dying to try it out and when I saw the colours for this weeks challenge I thought that choc chip and sahara sand might work well with this technique.
Jan has a great tutorial on her blog here. Take a look if you’d like to see how it’s done.
I did the same as she does in the video except that I stamped and sponged with choc chip and sahara sand and I used white craft ink.
For the trees I “rock and rolled” the leaves using celery and NQN and the trunks are choc chip but I also used my white pen on one side to highlight them.

This is my final card for this months Creative Crew challenge.

This is another Triangle Tri-fold card but this time I used the cute hippo from Pun Fun. I used dazzling diamonds on the hippo’s bow and balloon and paper pieced her using blushing bride and pear pizzazz card stock.

This is a card we made at our last club meeting.

We learned how to make a Triangle Tri-Fold card, how to make the medallion using the scallop trim border punch and how to make the owl using the owl punch.

We learn something new every time we meet and have lots of fun doing it!

True friend

At Just Add Ink this week we have a photo to inspire you.

If you live in Hobart like me, this looks absolutely idyllic. I think we’ve had rain, sleet, snow, gale force winds and temperatures under 10degrees every day for more than a week now! It feels like it will never end!

So I wasn’t really in a “warm” mood when I created this but I was definitely inspired by the photo. The sea, the sky and the leaves and flowers trailing over the railing were my inspiration.

I decided to make a Joy Fold card. Chantelle made a great card and tutorial for the JAI blog hop and I used her instructions but made my front panel slightly smaller. I have made a joy fold before but haven’t for a long time. It was great how that blog hop encouraged me to try new folds and rediscover old ones.

I finally bought the Elegant Lines embossing folder last week and decided it would work perfectly with the water theme. It is very pretty and I’m happy with my purchase! The main panel is sponged onto glossy white cardstock and stamped with stazon. On the white I have clear embossed the same swirly leaf pattern from Vintage vogue and I rock and rolled the flowers from that set with PIP and rose red.

This is another card made for the Splitcoast Stampers Creative Crew challenge.
CCREW0711DF, CreativeCrew, SUO or SUM -- DSP/Color Focus: Show us what you can do with the In Colors! You can use other colors, but In Colors should be the main focus of your project.

I decided to use Pear Pizzazz and Poppy Parade and see if I could come up with an interesting Christmas card.

This is called a Star Card. Delys made a lovely one for the JAI Fancy Folds blog hop and she has instructions on her blog if you’d like to try to make one.

I also used the cropadile to punch a little hole in the top and I used a button and linen thread to make a little loop so that the star could be hung somewhere.

I just left the centre triangle plain to write a message. I thought I might give it to one of the girls teachers for Christmas. My youngest has a male teacher this year and I think the fold would appeal to him although perhaps the poinsettia on it is a bit too “girly”?

This week at Just Add Ink we have a colour challenge for you.

At first these colours said “male card” to me, but instead I decided to go very soft and feminine.

I also decided to try some techniques that I hadn’t attempted before.
One was the spotlighting technique. I used the tag to highlight an area of the stamped image.
The other was the faux mother of pearl technique. I’ve included this second photo because you can see the shine a little more . It is done on glossy white with frost white shimmer paint and also sponged with soft suede to make it darker. here is the great tutorial by France that inspired me, if you’re interested in trying it out.

I was tempted to send this card to my good friend Rita in the US, who is also a stampin up demo. She has repeatedly said how much she hates this stamp, yet it’s one of my favourites. I’d love to be able to convince her that it’s gorgeous. I decided against trying though, I know everyone has different tastes (but how can you not like this one?) :)
Instead I gave it to my daughter’s violin teacher with a gift card as a thankyou for all her help with the Hobart Eisteddfod this year. No prize this time unfortunately (there were so many brilliant young soloists!!!) but it was a wonderful experience for her and her teacher is so generous and giving of her time and knowledge I hoped this might show our appreciation of her.

Owl of us

This is the other multi-flap card with pocket I made. I used this tutorial if you'd like to give it a try. I made this one first and it was a little big, which is why I altered the sizing on my other multi-flap card.
I decided to use my cute owl punch again with some retired dsp and ribbon that I had. It is a guys card, so I just knotted the ribbon rather than tying a pretty bow this time.

When you untie it, this is what you see. 3 owls looking down and 3 owls looking up.

Then when you lift the flap upwards this is how it looks.

I decided to just use a fun font in Word to write the greeting.
I used a great technique for adhering the pupils. By applying some tombow mono multi onto the end of a stylus or push pin and letting it dry it becomes “tacky” and you can easily pick small pieces up with it. You just put the glue where you want the pupils to be on the owl, pick up the pupil with your stylus and place on glue. It works brilliantly!

Ink : crumbcake (I sponged every piece of owl and it looked much better that way)

It’s another sneak peek of a new set we will get in September when the new catalogue comes out.
It’s from a cute set called Button Buddies and I’ve teamed it with Heard from the Heart. I used the 2-way glue pen and dazzling diamonds to make a little “snail trail” on the wishes, you can just see a hint of glimmer in the photo. I also white embossed the grass from Inspired by Nature on top of the dsp.

MULTI-FLAP CARD WITH POCKET

Wow! My first ever blog hop! How exciting! I hope you enjoyed seeing Jo’s Tri-fold (Z-shape) card and are keen to see another fancy fold. I decided to try something new, it’s called a Multi-flap card with pocket and I LOVE IT!

I think the only problem with it is that it’s a bit hard to photograph. But anyway this is the front of the card.

Then when you undo the beautiful satin bow and open the front flaps, this is what you see.

Then it opens upwards to reveal this.

I saw a tutorial for this fold here and I loved the look of it and wanted to give it a try. I made a card (which I will show you later on this week) following these directions but I found that it used 12”x12”cardstock and it was too big to fit in the Stampin Up square envelopes. So I changed it a little to make this one slightly smaller.

Here are my new dimensions:

Cut card 25 x 20 cm.

Score at 12.5 cm on both the short and long sides.

Cut 26.5cm x 7 cm card.

Score at 4, 4.5, 17 and 17.5 cm

I cut the dsp at these sizes:

26.5 x 6.5 cm

(3x) 12 x 12 cm

6.5 x 8.75 cm.

6.5 x 3.5 cm

12 x 7 cm

All other instructions are the same as given by Maria in the tutorial.

Inside the little pocket is a plain card to write your message. I also put a dot of tombow mono multi on the back of a gift card, let it dry and then stuck it onto the back of this plain card. A great way to send a gift card to someone special.

Chocolate monkey

This week at Just Add Ink we have a wonderful sketch challenge.

I have turned my card the other way around though because it just worked better for the idea I had.

I used my new chocolate set (and that cute monkey again).

I stamped the background stamp “so much chocolate so little time” with versamark onto crumb cake and clear embossed it. I did faux stitching around the edge of this piece and sponged crumb cake around the edge.

With the little chocolates I stamped and cut them out and bent the wrappers to give it a real 3D look. I also used crystal effects on the chocolate part and once it had dried, drew the swirl on the top with a white gel pen. The little chocolates were stuck on with mini glue dots to give them dimension.

The ribbon is an old roll of choc chip stitched grosgrain and I have put pip satin ribbon over the top of it.

Wedding birds

This is my final card for this months Splitcoast Stampers Creative Crew.

CCREW0611HF, CreativeCrew, SUO or SUM - Holiday/Seasonal Focus: *Love Birds* It wouldn't be right to have June, weddings, flowers, etc without the birds! Let this Love Birds Shower Ensemble inspire you! You do not have to do wedding cards, however you must use a bird.

I decided to try using the Awash with Flowers set in a different way. I embossed it with silver ep on white. It looks very pretty in real life but the photo doesn’t really capture it.

The other new thing I tried on this card was the bow. I made a double bow from organza ribbon, attached it with a vintage brad and then used my heat gun to “melt” it a little (like I do with the ribbon flowers). It gave it a lovely “shabby chic” look.

Party Owl

I decided to use my new owl punch again cause he’s so cute!
I used a stamp from Party Hearty for the “Celebrate”. I masked it to just get the part I wanted. I punched a circle for the balloon and used crystal effects on it to make it shiny. I cut a little end piece for the balloon and tied linen thread to it and the owl’s wing. I also just cut a triangle for his party hat.
When I showed this card to my friend Mae (who is also on JAI) she said :
“How did you make the end of the balloon?”
I told her I had just cut it and she said:
“Oh I thought you might have used one of the owl’s feet for it.”
Brilliant!!!
Why didn’t I think of that. Anyway I’ll know what to do next time. Thanks Mae.

Bee black and white

This weeks challenge at Just Add Ink is to just use black and white.

Amazingly I have never made a black and white card before. This is what I came up with.

Yes, I know, I made another one of those ribbon flowers! But they are just so beautiful. I made it with the organza ribbon this time.

I used shimmery white for the card and stamped the elements of style swirl onto vellum with stazon. I attached that to the shimmery white with black brads and stamped the bee from nature walk onto shimmery white and cut him out and used dimensionals for him. (I have no idea why that bee is a he – but he is!)

Owl birthday bag

Of course everyone on the crew is American and not experiencing a cold Tassie winter at this moment. Ha :)

I have never put these colours together before or used any of them very much. They really were a challenge for me, but I’m happy with how it turned out .

I had only just given in to the lure of the owl punch and so I decided to try it out and make a cute “bright” owl.

I also did some paper piecing. I stamped and cut out the little bag from the Birthday Bakery set, and also used real tissue paper at the top and linen thread for the handle.
I added wings to the owl by using the scallop oval punch so that he could hold the bag.

Then I made a very simple little bag using card covered with the same dsp.
I tried to make the big bag the same as the little bag the owl is carrying.

Stampin' Up! has flowers! Ribbon Flowers, Rub-on Flowers, Button Flowers, Brad Flowers, Crocheted Flowers, Paper Flowers, Die Cut Flowers, Stenciled Flowers! The challenge is to use any flower except stamped flowers!

I had just bought my first flower die for the big shot and decided to use it for the challenge. It’s the Island Floral Die. It was actually in the Summer Mini catalogue but it was carried over and is still available.
I saw a gorgeous flower done by Nikki Spencer and she had a link to a tutorial by Joanne Leddy showing how she’d made them. They are so gorgeous. I did mine the same way except that she used the fancy flower punch instead of the die, so mine is bigger. I also don’t have the boho blossoms punch amazingly (I’ll have to rectify that soon!) I used a retired punch (trio flower, I think it was called) for my flower centre. The other thing I did differently was that instead of spraying the flower with water, I sprayed it with white shimmer paint/alcohol solution. So it is very sparkly in real life.

Worm wishes

This is my card for this weeks fussy cutting challenge at JAI.

There may be a couple of things about this card that seem a bit strange.

The first is that there are worms on top of a birthday cake and the second is that it’s a 25th birthday card that looks like it should be for a little kid.

Well it was my son’s birthday yesterday and he turned 25. Wow! Doesn’t that make you feel old!!! But even though he’s getting old too (he’s just a big boy really), he doesn’t like your average “man’s card”, he likes fun and a bit crazy!

So I had to get creative!

The worms? Well this was just a bit of silliness. I had that worm wishes stamp which fitted right in with my girls wanting to give him “gruesome” boys stuff. You know, skulls, snakes, bugs, ghosts, that sort of thing. He also loves shows like Bear Grills and Heston’s Feast where they eat weird stuff like bugs. For Christmas last year he even got a lollypop with a grub in it. All my girls thought it was gross!

Anyway hopefully you can see that there was some reason behind all of the madness.

Butterfly happiness

I thought I might show you a card the ladies in my club made the last time we met.
Quite simple on the outside…..

but there’s a surprise inside when you open it….

It was a bit hard to get a good photo of the inside so you can’t really tell how cute it is. It’s called a spiral pop-up card.
Everyone really enjoyed making them. They’re a bit different and very easy to make (and cute). I got the instructions from splitcoast stampers. There is a tutorial here if you’d like to give it a try.

Monkeys for Alex

I needed to make a card for my nephew and I decided to use the colour challenge at Paper Players. They extended the playing time because of problems with blogger last week and this gave me time to play along. Yay!

Perfect colours for a male card.

My sister told me Alex would love one of my monkey cards for his birthday. (Plus something to go with it of course!) I’m getting quite a reputation for using this stamp. It’s actually my daughter’s set and it is the best birthday present I have ever given her. Ha Ha :)

I stamped the monkeys with espresso and then embossed them with clear. It gave them more dimension and they’re nice and shiny too. Can’t see that in the photo though.

Baja Nature

This card is the last of my Creative Crew challenge entries for this month.

I was lucky that my new Nature Walk set fit perfectly with this colour challenge. Neutrals with a touch of Baja (my favourite Stampin Up colour).

Next months challenges are a bit more challenging for me. I haven’t even started them yet, oops! Lets just say they’re not my favourite colour combinations and I may have trouble coming up with something that I like. We’ll have to wait and see but I will have some new Creative Crew cards to show you in June!

-- Go neutral with a splash of color! Instead of whisper white or very vanilla, try naturals white or ivory, confetti white or cream. Large emphasis on neutrals. I did use very vanilla on this card though.

I brayered crumb cake onto the tulip embossing folder and ran it through the big shot with very vanilla card.. I liked the effect it gave the card.

I stamped the images with suede and just used an aquapainter to apply touches of Baja to them and sponged the squares with crumbcake.

The ribbon is vanilla taffeta which I tried to kind of pleat rather than gather up this time.

I used naturals ivory, baja and suede for the colour challenge. The dot background was made by brayering baja ink onto the dot embossing folder and putting naturals ivory through the big shot.

Just thought I’d show you another challenge from the Splitcoast Stampers Creative Crew.

With this one you have to choose a layout and make a male and female card with it, while keeping the “antique” theme for this month.

I decided to use Nature Walk and my grid technique to make a male card. This one was for my Brother in law’s birthday. I distressed this one quite a lot to try to make it more “manly”. I used the music notes wheel on the crumb cake and really scrunched it and then sponged crumb cake on it.

At Just Add Ink this week we (it feels so good to be able to say that now) :) have a sketch challenge for you.

I decided to use the Nature Walk set from our new mini.

It is a gorgeous set and I will be showing you a lot more Nature Walk cards over the next few weeks.

I stamped the flower onto very vanilla, brayered crumb cake onto the square lattice embossing folder and then put it through the big shot. I embossed everything else with soft suede and clear embossing powder and coloured the bird and eggs with baja.

The ribbon is white organza that I just coloured using a dauber and soft suede. Then I just pulled a thread in it. It coloured really easily and looks beautiful this new colour.

This is the first card I made for the Splitcoast Stampers Creative Crew challenge.
The brief was to use Stampin Up products to give a card a distressed look.

I had been asked to make a special 30th wedding anniversary card and I thought distressed would be nice but I didn’t want to go “too over-board” with it because I didn’t know the couple it was going to. So I made it distressed and pretty at the same time!
I decided to use my Always heart, I haven’t used it for a while and I had forgotten how beautiful it is. I realised too that it would team beautifully with the finial press embossing folder. I brayered crumb cake ink onto the folder before putting the river rock in and running it through the big shot. Then I distressed this piece further with a sanding block. The heart is embossed with espresso on 2 layers and cut out. I distressed all edges using crumb cake and sponged some pretty in pink onto the heart and birds. I also added some champagne shimmer paint to their wings and tails. I pulled a thread in the vanilla satin ribbon to give it a vintage look too.
Oh and there had to be pearls because your 30th anniversary is a pearl one if you didn’t already know. I didn’t, I had to look it up :)

Ink : espresso, crumb cake, pip
Other : clear embossing powder, sanding block, daubers, champagne shimmer mist, pearls, bird punch, big shot, lots of tags, finial press, linen thread, brayer, vanilla satin ribbon, timeless type junior alpha

The person who ordered the card was very happy with it when she saw it and she told me later that the anniversary couple truly loved it, they said it was just so beautiful. Yeah!!! Love a happy ending!

As for the Creative Crew challenges there are 4 each month.

Once you have posted this into the keyword section you upload to splitcoast as usual and you can add extra words to the keyword line such as what stamps you used too.
These challenges run for all of May and then 4 new challenges will be set.

Satin Elements

Exciting news!!! I’ve been asked to be on the design team at Just Add Ink PERMANENTLY! WOOOHOOO! It has been so much fun playing along with them this month, I am so excited and very honoured to be asked. They are such a wonderfully talented group of ladies (and they’re all lovely too!)

There was only 1 drawback to being on their team and that was that I had to provide a photo of myself! I hate having my photo taken, (and to have one on the internet for all to see – even worse!) which is why I have never had one on my blog. I look so much cuter as a cartoon character! If you’ve ever wondered, it is me as I would be if I was a character from Pokoyo. (I love that show –very cute!) Anyway my family and close friends realise how much I must REALLY want to be on this design team to make this sacrifice! Ha Ha!

Well I’d better get on with some stamping stuff………..

The challenge at Just Add Ink this week is to just add a flower.

So I just had to make another one of those gorgeous satin ribbon flowers.

I guess I just had to use the Elements of Style stamp set again too. It’s one of my favourites.

A little while ago I got a blog award from Rita Wright.

She left me a lovely comment about my 50th birthday card plus this award.

Thanks so much Rita! You should definitely check out Rita’s blog here. She makes so many wonderful cards. She is very talented and is a very lovely person too!

With this award I have to tell you 7 things about myself you might not know.

* This first one is exciting for me and it’s how I met Rita. I’ve been chosen to be on Splitcoast Stampers Creative Crew! (Rita was chosen to be in the Crew too.) I will tell you more about the Creative Crew at the end of this post.

* I have lived in 3 different states (or territories) in Australia so far. No plan to leave lovely Tassie though!

* I love most kinds of music. Especially rock, metal, punk, grunge. Most people would be surprised by this.

* I usually play the same cd over and over again for weeks until I get so sick of it I HAVE to take it out. A cd in the car can stay in there for months and we never listen to the radio. Right now it’s Offspring we’re listening to.

* I have tried lots of crafts : knitting, cross-stitch, paper tole, scrapbooking and many more, but stamping is my favourite and my best! (Charlie and Lola quote there, I love them too!)

* I don’t watch movies very often. If I had to choose a favourite, I think it would be Edward Scissorhands.

* It’s hard for me to think of things to say about myself!

Okay done!

Now I have to pass this award on to other bloggers. I’d love to pass it back to Rita but I guess that’s not allowed.

Kirsty girl this is my daughter’s blog. She makes the occasional card but that’s not what her blog is about. It’s all about her photography and paintings. Great blog and she’s taught me everything I know about blogging and using a computer. (Which still isn’t much. She’s very patient though!) Thanks Kirsten.

Well I’ve probably rambled on enough today so I will just briefly explain about the Creative Crew. The Splitcoast Stampers site is the number 1 stamping site and a Stampin’ Up challenge group was started on there at the end of last year called the Creative Crew. It is a group of demonstrators chosen to enter challenges each month to showcase Stampin’ Up! products. The crew goes for 3 months. So I am doing May, June and July. I have been a bit quiet posting on my blog this month because I have been making my challenges for the crew and can’t show them till May. So I have been busy, just not posting. I will post 1 of my challenges here each week during my term. I will let you know what the challenges are and how to post your own entries to SCS later. Anyway it was a real honour to be chosen for the Crew, there are so many talented stampers in the group.

Nicest Friend

With Anzac Day being this week, Just Add Ink has decided to focus on Mateship or Friendship.

I decided to use the Nicest Things stamp set to create this card for a friend.

My idea was to make the card look like an old-time scrapbook page or perhaps a bulletin board. I watercoloured the girls, trying to make it look like a photo and left the bunny as a sketch would be. I used dsp from the hostess paper pack, it is blushing bride. I sponged crumb cake ink on it to age it a little though because it was too white.

I sponged the clouds using baja and a mask made with a scallop circle and scallop oval punch. It was the first time I’ve tried this technique and I was really happy with how it turned out. I think my watercolouring may be full of cloudy skies in the future!

April 25th – Anzac Day

ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. In 1917, the word ANZAC meant someone who fought at Gallipoli and later it came to mean any Australian or New Zealander who fought or served in the First World War. During the Second World War, ANZAC Day became a day on which the lives of all Australians lost in war time were remembered. The spirit of ANZAC recognises the qualities of courage, mateship and sacrifice which were demonstrated at the Gallipoli landing.

50th Chocolate

The challenge this week at Just Add Ink is to create a card using the colours from your favourite chocolate wrapper. It was very hard to come up with a favourite chocolate because I pretty much love them all. I am addicted to chocolate! (Just not the white stuff – I’d have to be really desperate to eat that.)

I decided to go with my favourite “everyday chocolate” the kind I see at the check out and can’t resist buying. Not the “really special” kind.

Can you tell what it is from the colours?

I was asked to make a card for the Principal at the school where I work (and my girls go there too). It was a big birthday occasion as you can see and I was told that they didn’t think she’d like a “flowery” card! Well that made it kind of hard because I would have done flowers plus it needed to be very special.

So I decided to use the Birthday Bakery set, I thought the saying might be just right for this occasion. I thought it should fit well with this colour challenge too, because I had to use red and chocolate. Have you worked out my favourite chocolate yet? It’s Cherry Ripe.

I had pretty much designed and made most of the card using real red card and dsp, choc chip card for the border and coloured in the cakes using choc, real red, pip and regal rose. I used choc chip ink to stamp the 50 and the saying and then thought “maybe I should find a photo of a cherry ripe on the internet just to be sure”.

Well do you realise there is yellow on the pack and no brown! I couldn’t believe it! I obviously associate the chocolate colour with the pack but you don’t actually see chocolate until you open the wrapper. Yellow!….. Well I tried putting some yellow card on it and “YUK” is what I thought. So I decided to colour the cake stands daffodil delight and the string from the tag is yellow embroidery cotton. You can’t see the yellow much in the photo, but it was just enough to look nice without clashing with the red. I had to leave the choc chip colour on there though because to me that really is the colour of cherry ripe.

Ink : Choc chip, markers, red, choc, crumb cake, pip, regal rose, daffodil, celery

The red satin bow made this card and really looked like the wrapper – so gorgeous and shiny.

Why not make a card using your favourite chocolate wrapper colours and enter the challenge at Just Add Ink? Or at least visit there and drool over the design team’s very yummy creations.

Tulip field

At Just Add Ink this week we have this photo to take inspiration from.

I’ll admit I did find this challenge very challenging!

But the girls’ reminded me of a field of bright red flowers and this is the card I came up with.

I used the Awash with Flowers set with Inspired by Nature to create a woodland field of spring bulbs. ( Perhaps tulips and bluebells? Okay, you might need to use your imaginations a little!)

I paper-pieced the flowers with real red card and daffodil delight dsp from the brights stack. Then I used embroidery thread to make french knots for the flower centres and blue wildflowers. The flowers are popped up on dimensionals.

Party invitations

There’s no stamping involved in this project, but it’s a quick and easy party idea that I thought you might like to see.

I always try to make party invitations that are a bit different. Not just those pads of invitation sheets that you fill in or computer generated ones. But I also wanted this one to be quick and easy.

This is what I came up with for my soon-to-be 6 year olds party this year.

I used some retired stampin up cardstock to make pillow boxes. There were actually lots of different colours used. This one is apricot appeal, not a colour I miss, I must admit, but it did look nice (there was even a balloon in the pack which coordinated beautifully with it.) Instead of stamping their names (which would have taken much longer) I chose a nice font from the computer and printed it onto whisper white. I punched this out with the word window punch and then backed it with the modern label punch.

I also printed out the party info from the computer onto printer paper. I cut this out and wrapped it around a Candy Roll with a balloon and tied it together with curling ribbon. This fit neatly, all wrapped up into the pillow box.

They looked very sweet and I’m sure the kids will love getting a balloon and lollies with the invite.

Explosion Purse

I was asked to be a Guest Design Team member for April at Just Add Ink.

What an amazing honour! The Design Team are all so talented and they have great challenges each and every week. I am very excited to be a part of the team (for a month anyway)!

This weeks challenge is Just Add a Box or a Bag.

I found this little bag over on Brenda Quintana’s blog. It’s called an Explosion Purse. It’s a wonderful design and it’s easy to make too! Bonus!

This is my cute and simple version.

Ingredients :

Card : Perfect plum 12”, regal rose, white, brights dsp stack

Ink : Melon mambo

Other : big shot, top note, scallop square punch, cropadile, turquoise ribbon (ret.), sticky strip, velcro dot.

And this is my Classy “stepped-up” version.

I like the other one, it’s cute. But I love how this one turned out! I embossed a stamp from Elements of Style with silver embossing powder on black card. It did take quite a while to emboss the whole sheet, but it was worth it, (it looks so luxurious!) I also used shimmery white card and embossed it in the big shot using the Square Lattice folder and cut it using the top note die. I trimmed this down so that it would have an edging of Rich Razzleberry and I used some Razzleberry satin ribbon for the handle and an Antique brad added that extra special touch.

Magical birthday

This card is for my youngest daughter who is turning 6 very soon. It’s sad really ……… she’s growing up way too fast!
I used 2 challenges for this card. SUO challenges has a birthday card challenge and The Paper Players has another great sketch challenge this week.

This is actually my daughter’s stamp set. She asked for it for Christmas and has played with it quite a bit, making cards for friends and just making pictures to stick on the fridge. I have not made anything with it before though, this is my first attempt.

The wings in this set are separate. I stamped and watercoloured the horse and coloured and cut the wings out and then tried to position the wings nicely. You could just stick them onto the horses back (which is what kids would do if they were making a card) and that looks okay but I decided to use a knife and cut just above the horses back and along the mane a little and then slide the wing into the slot and behind the horse. This worked really well and looked a lot better I think. I also put dimensionals under the wing at the top so it is very 3D. I also used the 2 way glue pen and dazzling diamonds to glitter the hooves and the wing and its all done on shimmery white so very sparkly! The star border is done by using the classic stars wheel with versamark on shimmery white card, embossing with white and then sponging pip, baja and plum over it.

Cheeky monkeys

There is a wonderful challenge at Paper Players this week.

It’s a clean and simple sketch challenge.

Those monkeys are so cute aren’t they? You may be wondering why I have the number 3 on there, but only have 2 monkeys? Well it’s actually a birthday card for twin boys who are turning 3 and the cute little monkeys are very much them!

Olive tree

I was a Colour Queen Courtier last week for my giraffe card hurray!!!

I feel very honoured (and excited) when I win a challenge.

Anyway here is this weeks challenge at ColourQ.

Gorgeous colours and again the design team have come up with some really inspirational cards. You should take a look and why not enter the challenge yourself.

Here is my entry:

I had to make another male card this week so I thought I would use the challenge for some inspiration. They’re always hard for me to make, but I’m quite pleased with how this turned out.

I made it sort of like a little book. I folded the early espresso card on the side, glued an embossed piece of kiwi kiss to the front and then glued a piece of daffodil delight dsp around the “spine” and attached 2 jumbo brads with the crop a dile through all layers. Then I used my bone folder to score the front and back of the card where the dsp ends.

For the tree I inked it up with espresso and then used a baby wipe to get rid of the ink from the leaves and used an old olive marker on them. I sponged espresso and crumb cake around the edges of the tree piece and sponged espresso on all other pieces.

The Just for you was stamped in espresso and then the “YOU” is coloured in with an olive marker, but you can’t see it much in the photo unfortunately. Then I sprayed the tree with champagne mist shimmer paint.

Ink : espresso, olive marker, crumb cake

I was asked to make this card by a friend who said “Do you make male cards?” and I said “Sure!” (trying to sound confident even though I don’t feel confident at all when I have to make one). Anyway I hope I succeeded and she is happy with it.

Wild giraffe

There is a wonderful challenge at SUO Challenges to use your favourite retired Stampin Up set. You should go and check out all the wonderful cards there and see which sets people miss.
My favourite is definitely Wild About You.
I also saw a colour challenge at ColourQ and knew I had to combine the two challenges and make a card with my favourite old set.

You know these are actually cookies? Aren’t they gorgeous!
It is a wonderful colour combination, I used Tempting Turquoise instead as I don’t have Cool Caribbean.

As well as loving this set because you can make a great card for anyone with it, it makes me smile every time I look at these stamps.
I started as a Stampin’ Up demo in August 2008. I got a few stamps with my kit but I wanted more of course. So I asked my sisters if they would buy me some things from the catalogue for my birthday in September. I wrote them a little wish list of different ones I really needed to have and one of my sisters bought me this one. So when I got it I was very excited but was good and put it on my stamp shelf, unmounted, to be saved and not used till my actual birthday.
Well my birthday arrived and my husband and daughters gave me a birthday card they made with this set! They had put so much time and love into it, it was sweet. I then remembered though that I hadn’t even mounted it! And this was back when the stamps weren’t cut for you already!
This is how it looks now:

The way he had mounted it was by cutting the rubber into rectangles the size of the blocks, stamped them onto the wood with choc chip and then stuck the rectangle of rubber onto the block.
When I laughed he just said “well that’s how you do it isn’t it?”
Umm…. NO.
I had to pull all the rubber off the block and try to cut it when it was very sticky. Put it back on the block and hope it still stuck and then put the stickers over his stamped images.
There’s no way I’ll ever part with this set. (And probably no one would want it looking the way it does anyway!)

Easter bunny case

I decided to make a cute little Easter card for the weekly challenge at Just Add Ink. The challenge was to case a card from one of their founders. Although both Amanda and Danielle have gorgeous cards, I decided to case Danielle.

It’s not an exact copy but it is definitely in her style. I had the card fold at the top (which I rarely do, but she does quite a lot) and corner rounded the card at the bottom (another element that features strongly in her cards). Other similar elements to hers are the clear embossing on the top third of the card and having a pretty bow. I really like Danielle’s style – Clean and Simple and Gorgeous.

I received a stylish blogger award this week. It was from Judy Marshall who is a Stampin’ Up demo from Canada. I was very honoured that she likes my cards and my blog enough to give me this award. You should definitely check out her blog, she has some wonderful cards and tutorials on there (and even more importantly she’s a lovely lady too!) It’s so wonderful making new blogging buddies! Thanks so much Judy.

I now have to nominate 8 bloggers that I admire.

There are a lot of blogs that I regularly visit, so this was a bit tricky but these are some of my favourites, in no particular order. Please check them out.

The last one is not actually a stamping blog (it’s my daughter’s blog) and I definitely admire her, (and she’s very stylish!) so I’ve added it too. Her blog is full of gorgeous photography and paintings.

Now the real catch to getting this award is that you have to write 8 things about yourself that others might not know. Hard!

1. I love to play WII Just Dance with my girls.

2. I get so badly hooked on some games such as Tetris that I have to ban myself from playing them. I even had to tell my husband to hide my DS from me. So it has been missing for a couple of years now! There are so many games like that on the computer now that I know I would get HOOKED on, so I haven’t even looked at them because I know I’m a mindless game ADDICT!

3. I love reading my girls bedtime stories.

4. I am bad at making decisions. It can take me a whole day to make 1 card because I can’t decide which colours work best together, which embellishment to use, which ribbon looks best, whether to pop the sentiment up on a dimensional, etc, etc, etc.

5. All my kids (4) play musical instruments (2 guitar, 2 violin). I don’t. But I love music and love listening to them play.

6. Everyone’s name in my family starts with a “K sound”. Everyone starts with K except for Christopher. I should have just spelled his with a K too!

7. I used to love cooking. But now that I have to do it every night and day, it has lost its appeal!!!!

8. I’m afraid of worms.

Phew! All done!

I also got an award last week from Paper Players for my 50th birthday card. Yay! I love entering challenges and winning occasionally. (Oh, that’s 9 things about me that you might not know!)

My 50 Wishes card was a winner at Paper Players this week…. Yay!!! It’s very exciting to be chosen!

I thought I would show what we made at one of my stamp clubs last week. It’s a little Easter treat hanger box.

I saw this idea from Andrea Walford here, but I changed the dimensions of it slightly so that we only had to use an A4 sheet of card.

I think everyone loved it and fell in love with the little chick from A Good Egg! He’s so CUTE!

Ingredients :

Stamps : A good egg

Card : pip, melon mambo, brights dsp stack, shimmer white

Ink : stazon, melon mambo, pip,

Other : watercolour crayons, heart to heart punch, circle punch
